Make your work in the field more efficient and productive with the how-to of location intelligence. Author and Esri product engineer Marika Vertzonis learned about geospatial technology in the field, and she knows what you need to know. This handbook is your friend in the field. A biologist in a rain forest making observations on indigenous frogs, an engineer maintaining utility equipment, or a citizen scientist taking water samples from a creek are all doing fieldwork. Their work is anchored by location. No matter what electronic tools they take into the field, they all take a notebook or a guidebook. As you head into the field along with all your equipment, be sure to include this practical fieldwork guide. Fieldwork Handbook gives you tips, best practices, and activities that make your work in the field more productive and successful. No matter how you use location intelligence in the field, you can up your game with this book and improve your experience. Covering preparation, equipment, workflows, and data, this book will teach you how to: Organize and reconcile field data Effectively coordinate and dispatch field resources Refine fieldwork workflows Sync the office with the field Get it on IndiePubs. Learn more about the book.

Hi Alexey, I just checked the url and didn't see any issues, the side-by-side maps showed up fine. It might be a browser issue, maybe try a different browser or clear and refresh?

Hi ALawson, You can assess most of the teaching materials here: https://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?id=2d667d9cd31245299ad745806100c3b5&view=list#content When you register with VitalSource for a faculty account you are verified as an instructor, so you also get the answer sheet for the assignments. Since you aren't going that route, can you shoot me an email (ccarpenter@esri.com) from your school email account with your syllabus attached?

Hi, That book isn't published by Esri, so we don't have any control over keeping it updated. As the software changes, we work to keep our books updated. Our latest title for ArcGIS Pro is GIS Tutorial for ArcGIS Pro 3.1 which came out 9/19/23. Craig

Thanks for letting me know, it does seem like there is something corrupt with that map. It looks like you found a good workaround for now. I've flagged this to be updated in the next edition, Getting to Know ArcGIS Pro 3.2.

The print editions of the Esri Press books, GIS Tutorial for ArcGIS Desktop 10.8 and Getting to Know ArcGIS Desktop 10.8 have included a free, 180-day software trial. However, after November 30th, 2023 new software trials will no longer be available. Any trials that have started before November 30th, 2023, will still continue through the full 180-day trial period, as originally offered. Starting in December 2023, print versions of these books will no longer be available, though purchases can be made while supplies last. E-books will continue to be available for the near-term. We encourage everyone who has enjoyed these books to take this opportunity to explore the versions of these books which use ArcGIS Pro. For those needing resources to help with this transition, the book Switching to ArcGIS Pro from ArcMap, second edition, is a concise yet comprehensive guide for getting up to speed. This book introduces experienced ArcMap users to the ribbons, panes, and project-based structure of ArcGIS Pro.

Hi Mike, Some folders are empty and this is expected. Certain chapters have you store data in those folders and others are used in different ways. You should find necessary data in folders when called for by the relevant chapters. Direct link here. Thanks, Craig
