Hi Matt, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I was able to reproduce the same behavior. Can you create a ticket with Esri Technical Support so we can log this issue? Thanks! -Marla

Hi Russ, There is a DotNet proxy on github that supports windows authentication. This is public but is not fully released so you are more than welcome to try to implement it. Windows Auth Proxy: resource-proxy/DotNet at DotNet-Windows_Authentication · afili/resource-proxy · GitHub Thanks and hopes this helps! -Marla

Hi Steve, I have attached a blog with some Javascript debugging tips. I hope that this can help identify your issue and what request is failing. Also a couple of things to keep in mind and double check. This particular sample utilizes the resource proxy. On line 48 of the sample the proxy is referenced. The proxyUrl is pointing to the path on that particular server (for example proxyUrl: "/sproxy"), although your proxy url could be much different (for example http://<servername>/DotNet/proxy.ashx). The proxy is typically used when the request are quite large (2048 characters) and you need to use a Post rather than a Get request. It is also used if you want to have the application authenticate on your behalf. Try downloading the resource proxy and follow the readme doc to configure it and then specify the new proxyURL on line 48 and add the serverUrl in the proxy.config I have attached a couple of resources regarding the proxy page if you would like to take a closer look. 1. Using the proxy page 2. Working with secured resources I hope this gets you on the right track! Kind regards, -Marla

Hi Mark, I believe that Ujjwal is on to something with the problem being associated with the CSS. I didn??t notice the misaligned title bar in the measurement widget. If you have stepped through the code/snooped the web traffic and the widget is working properly, I would double check the CSS. When the CSS is not aligned properly, issues can arise with the placement of measurement line in relation to the position of the cursor. I don??t believe that this is an issue with the projection. The operational layer projects on the fly. Without seeing a simple application with the problem reproduced it makes it difficult to identify the issue. I have attached a couple of older threads that could point you in the right direction. 1. Measure and draw cursor problem 2. Draw cursor offset 3. Basemap and operational layers in different projections Thanks! -Marla

Hi Mathew, I have attached a link to that explains how CSS is used to style HTML elements. It describes how you can change the text, color, boxes and text size and much more! For example, <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <body> <h1 style="font-family:verdana;">A heading</h1> <p style="font-family:arial;color:red;font-size:20px;">A paragraph.</p> </body> </html> Hope this helps! -Marla

Hi Mark, Could you elaborate a little bit more on the issue? Using the measurement widget, are you only able to draw vertical lines? Would you mind sharing a simplified sample of your application in JS fiddle so I can take a look? This a very simple sample that uses the measurement widget. I have attached a snippet of how to add the measurement widget is added: var measurement = new Measurement({ map: map, defaultAreaUnit: Units.SQUARE_MILES, defaultLengthUnit: Units.KILOMETERS, }, dom.byId("measurementDiv")); measurement.startup(); I hope this helps! Thanks, -Marla K.

Hi Ken, I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with the API, maybe this will help clear some things up. This particular example uses the ???? because if other modules are added in the application then other classes would be placed here. Sometimes it can be more difficult to break down an example. Is there a particular sample that you are working with that I can help you with? For example: require([ "esri/graphic", "esri/map", ??esri/dijit/Measurement", "esri/layers/FeatureLayer", "esri/renderers/SimpleRenderer", "esri/symbols/SimpleLineSymbol", "esri/symbols/SimpleFillSymbol", ], function(Graphic, Map, Measurement, FeatureLayer, SimpleRenderer, SimpleLineSymbol, SimpleFillSymbol){ This stuff is tough to learn at first but there are multiple places that you can turn to. I have attached a couple of resources to get you started. Don't get discouraged, we are always here for you. I always found that adding new things to the samples, breaking it, and fixing helped me get to familiar with the API. Check out this tutorial This sample has comments to show where the line is being added If your application is not working the web debugging tools can help you troubleshoot the issue. The ArcGIS JavaScript community has a lot of resources to get answer to your questions. This example explains layouts of applications. I hope this helps and please let us know if you have other questions! -Marla K.
