Hello, I too am seeing this same behavior when importing symbology from a .lyrx file. I have not been able to remedy the solution in the same manner as Yusef. If anyone has any tips, it would be appreciated!

Thanks for the response Noah; that's great insight on projects/products. I was able to get the install work properly. I did not have git installed on my computer or on the web server that I'm working on. Once I installed git, npm was able to successfully install the package. I also ensured that my PATH variable matched what is outlined in the stackoverflow post below: javascript - Bower: ENOGIT Git is not installed or not in the PATH - Stack Overflow Thanks, Brian

I am having an issue getting the npm install to run when trying to install the arcgis webpack plugin. When I run npm install --save-dev @arcgiswebpack-plugin I get the following errors: 73 error code ENOENT 74 error syscall spawn git 75 error path git 76 error errno ENOENT 77 error enoent Error while executing: 77 error enoent undefined ls-remote -h -t ssh://git@github.com/Esri/dgrid.git 77 error enoent 77 error enoent 77 error enoent spawn git ENOENT 78 error enoent This is related to npm not being able to find a file. 79 verbose exit [ 1, true ] I am seeing this both when I attempt to install the plugin on my web server, and when I try to build the demo from the url below webpack | ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.14 I called ESRI tech support and they told me that this is out of scope for their support since it is a node.js issue. It is my understanding that this a product that ESRI developed, correct? Should it not fall under their scope of support? Thanks, Brian

Talk about bringing up a discussion from the dead.... We just noticed this same issue with several mxds. We recently migrated to a new SQL server, and we ran a script to change the source for all of our old project files. We are noticing that in MXDs where we have multiple data frames we are seeing this issue where the "Use Printer Paper Settings" option gets checked when using the mxd.save() function in Python. Not much to do about it at this point, but I figured that I'd make a note and bring this back from the dead to see if anyone else is still seeing the same behavior

Gotcha Josh - This is one of the slightly trickier things with Pro than with ArcMap. Since Pro is organized around projects rather than single maps, the structure of saved folder locations, database connections, etc... is a little bit different. Inside of the Catalog pane you can see 'Project, Portal, Favorites, History' tabs listed across the top. On the Favorites tab you can click on 'Add Item' in the upper right hand corner and click on 'Add Folder'. From there you can browse to a folder via UNC path or mapped drive and then save that folder connection under your Favorites. If you browse to the folder using a UNC path instead of a mapped drive, then every file that you add to a map in the future will be referenced via UNC path. Once you add the folder to your favorites, you can then right click on the folder and add it to your current project. You also have the option of always adding it to new projects if this is a folder that you reference often and always want it available. After you do that, then when you click the 'Add Data' button on the Map ribbon, that folder will be available under Project\Folders\FolderName in the tree on the left hand side. If you hover over the newly added folder, you will get a popup showing the path to the folder and you can see if it is using a UNC path or a mapped drive. Clear as mud? See the image below of my Add Data dialog box:

Glad to hear that you figured out the issue, Josh. Yes, it would make sense that not using the UNC path would cause that issue as your servers typically aren't going to have mapped drive letters. I'm not certain that I understand your other issue that you are seeing with Pro? I am able to add files from a UNC path rather than a mapped drive - Granted I am on 2.3.3, not 2.4.x. Can you explain the steps you are taking in Pro where you are running into the problem using the UNC path? I have a VM that I will install 2.4 on and see if I am experiencing the same issue.

So far the cache has continued to work for me after changing the data source to the new server. Thanks for the input.

According to the ESRI documentation, you should be able to delete the lock from the Python script to the aprx file by using the 'del aprx_variable' command. I have this at the end of my script(s) and still run into the issue where I have to shutdown my IDE in order to actually release the lock on the project file. *shrugs*

Thanks for the info George Thompson and Craig Swadner I was able to upgrade my geodatabase to version 10.5.1 and then perform the task as expected. I did some research and found that I could use a 10.4.1 client with a 10.5.1 database. I used a test machine with 10.5.1 installed; upgraded the database; ran the GP task to register the view; tested with my 10.4.1 client and all worked well. Thankfully, this is a read-only database where we're building views for our users to consume, so we're not modifying our production database. Thanks for the tips gentleman.

Is there a specific version at which it became possible to register views with a geodatabase? We are on 10.4.1 and I am receiving 'ERROR 001399: Views are not supported' when I attempt to register a view with the database. We are on SQL Server 2017.

I was just about to make a post on this myself. Starting yesterday I am also seeing the same errors. Like Rochelle, I am a bit of a novice with all of this, and am curious what steps we need to take to remedy this before Chrome makes the additional changes that they mention.

I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not... but I'm still learning the ropes with cached map services. We are migrating to a new SQL Server and I'm curious if I need to rebuild my map service caches because of that? The database name, feature class names and feature class structures are staying the same; the data is not changing; the only thing that is changing is the name of the server that is housing the database. Can I simply re-publish the map services that are pointing to the new server, or do I need to completely rebuild caches for any map services that have them? Thanks, Brian

I too was running into the same issue where the data source was not getting changed when using a .sde file. I changed tactics and did as Alberto Aloe suggested and it worked like a charm. I even noticed that the script was running a little slower as it churned through each layer in each map, so I could tell that it was doing something.
