I have the following setup in AWS using; ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for Amazon Web Services (Windows). The version is 10.9 and I would like to upgrade this to 11.1 (before I do this in the production version, I would like to test and establish the process in a copy) I took an AMI of the base deployment and launched test instance in the same VPC of the live instance. The SSL is wildcard and CA certified and hence assigned to a different domain name. (original: maps.mydomain.com; test is maps1.ourdomain.com) The portal's webadaptor is re-configured and updated the domain urls via: /portal/portaladmin/system/properties This make the portal loading and working fine. I have come across two issues with server webadaptor: 1. The private IP of the original base instance is linked to the arcgis server webadaptor and reinstalling /reconfiguring it not updating to the new private IP. I tried to the edit the webadaptor.config json file, but no success. The arcgis server site is not loading: error is no site is available. 2. The hosting server is not validated when connected from Portal. Any suggestions how I can get the server side working? Thomas

Hi Olov I too face same issue: I am using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8. I have Portal, Server (federated and hosted) and Datastore. Everything works except, I can't see the 'Create Feature Layer' in Portal. I can import shapefile and that creates a hosted feature layer. I am using a wild card SSL in the server from CA. I have imported the SSL root, intermediate and existing server certificate (wildcard from CA) and updated the Web Server SSL Certificate in both Portal and Server using the wildcard certificate. I have also updated the SSL in Datastore following the steps here. I still have no success. Any suggestions highly appreciated. If screenshots needed, I can provide.

I have geojson derived from a catchment API stored in a postgres. Using a st_transform function a geometry field is added in a view as per the code below. The resulting view works fine in QGIS however it fails to load when added to ArcMap /Pro. The issue only happens when features contain complex polygons (donut shapes), no issues when the polygon is simple. This issue seems recent, as I have been using this for over three years now and always the complex polygons were visible within Arc. as anything changed recently? I can share actual data if that helps. CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW public.travel_times_test AS WITH data AS ( SELECT travel_data_new.id, travel_data_new.type, travel_data_new."time", travel_data_new.postcode, travel_data_new.project, travel_data_new.data::json AS fc FROM travel_data_new ) SELECT row_number() OVER () AS objectid, f.id, f.postcode, f.type, f.project, f."time", st_transform(st_setsrid(st_geomfromgeojson(f.feat ->> 'geometry'::text), 4326), 3785) AS geom FROM ( SELECT json_array_elements(data.fc -> 'features'::text) AS feat, data.id, data.type, data."time", data.project, data.postcode FROM data) f; ALTER TABLE public.travel_times_test OWNER TO gwkgis2016;

Actually I figured this out: The issue comes when federating the server. In my case, I gave both service URL and Administration URL as the ssl domain name. The correct one which works is : Services URL: https://dev2.mydomain.com/server Administration URL: https://servername.domain.local:6443/arcgis Hope this will be helpful to anyone comes across same issue. Hi Jon Thanks for the tips, and I have followed option 2: to install everything manually, then federate. I have also installed the DataStore and configured the hosting server as well. Everything works fine, except that I can't run any of the 'Analysis' as I get the error: Create Service exception ' Exception: hostname in certificate didn't match: != OR ' I am using a wild card SSL (*.mydomain.com) to access server / portal through an alias name (https://dev2.mydomain.com/server and https:dev2.mydomain.com/portal). Any idea where I am making the mis-configuration? Thanks very much Thomas

Hi Alessandro / and other experts I have come across your question after publishing mine. Basically in the same situation and struggling for a week. Simply: have you figured out how to sort this? I managed to change the alias for the portal, but still unable to do this for the server. Any help / steps involved would be appreciated. Thanks Thomas

Using ArcGIS Enterprise Builder 10.6, a basic single site installation was setup. By default the Web Adaptors for both portal and server were linked to the internal server path. When accessing the portal and the published contents within the network, it works fine. The server is also mapped to a domain name with ssl bindings to access the ArcGIS portal and ArcGIS server from outside network. By default the portal's Web Adaptor setting has not picked up the external URL. By following this URL this has been changed manually to link to the domain name of my server. However, the ArcGIS server Web Adaptor URL is still showing the internal server name, and there is no way this can be changed. The issues: 1. I can't access the published contents through the ArcGIS Portal from outside the network (through the domain url). 2. I can't access the federated server manager from outside the network (through domain url) System details: Windows Server 2012 R2 IIS 8 with ssl enabled and mapped to domain ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 Portal internal url: https://gis-serverXX.xxxxx.local/portal (working fine) Server internal url: https://gis-serverXX.xxxxx.local/server(working fine) Portal external url: https://dev2.mydomain.com/portal (working fine) Server external url:https://dev2.mydomain.com/server (not working) Any suggestions on how to get this fixed will be very helpful, as I have been struggling with this installation for the last one week and replicated the issue in two different servers. Thanks Thomas

Solved: I found out that the process work if I use a different keycode file (although the keycode initially used was from a similar server advanced licence). Thanks all for your suggestions.

Hi Jayanta To clarify: I am using an AWS SQL Express instance as the database which I can connect using ArcCatalog and store non-spatial tables. I would like to make that database into 'geodatabase' so that I can store spatial data and that is where the process is failing.

Hi I am trying to 'Enable Enterprise Geodatabase' functionality for a database hosted in the Amazon RDS (SQL Server Express Edition 13.00.2164.0.v1). I followed the steps explained here (Create a geodatabase on Amazon Relational Database Service for SQL Server—ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS | ArcGIS Enterprise ) but there is no success. Is this because my RDS instance is Express and not a standard SQL Server edition ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Thomas

I used to generate token using the URL below (to access the map service REST end points from a stand alone ArcGIS server) https://myserver.com/arcgis/tokens / The JavaScript based applications uses these tokens to authenticate the map service. Now I have installed latest ArcGIS Server Enterprise with Portal for ArcGIS where the server is federated through the portal. How can I authenticate to the server to access the map service REST end points under the current setup? What is the authentication / token URL? Thanks Thomas

Rob, Thanks for this. The reason is, the developer I am working with says there is no option to pass more than one URL (of the map service), and hence my question.
