Questions: Can we have roles by the name of 'MyAppReader', 'MyAppWriter', and probably 'MyAppManager'? If it gets difficult, we will make the Manager role something from Portal's out of box role. Good afternoon. We are in the process of moving our country wide ArcMap/ArcObjects based (10.6.1) application to ArcGIS Pro Add-in based application.  We would like to use Portal to perform administrative tasks such user access based on their counties or state-level privileges, security,  and other authentication procedures. We have 2 main questions: Q1. Can we create a group for each county in the US - 3000+ counties? Or Is there an upper limit for the number of groups in the Portal we can create? We will be using the groups to perform the following tasks: to streamline access to layers, to provide ability to update features if needed, and to perform other administrative activities as needed. Q2. If there is an upper limit on the number of groups that can be created, Does Portal allow groups to create under a group? dear Readers, Good afternoon.  Thank you for taking the time to read my question. We have an Arc Engine/Arc Objects application that we are planning to re-write in ArcGIS Pro.  We want to take advantage of the portal features and ArcGIS Pro features while re-doing the application. One of the things that we wanted to use was portal security to limit the functions/items on the ribbon or tabs the users see. One thought was to create a MyAppGroup and store all the app-specific layers in that Group.  If a person is not authorized to this group, then ribbon items can be hidden.  We are also thinking about returning a NULL from a pro configuration to hide the whole option and open regular ArcGIS Pro. I am sure I am not the first one trying to make this happen.  Any white paper, blog would be greatly appreciated. I have downloaded the samples project from GIT hub, and I am also studying the same. dear Readers, Good afternoon.  Thank you for taking the time to read through my question. Using ArcGIS Engine, we had developed an enterprise standalone spatial application to serve our producers nationwide.  It is time to start planning for the future. Right now, we are wondering whether to create an Add-in application with many tab ribbons to accommodates features and functions or to explore whether such an entity like ArcGIS (ArcMap/ArcInfo) engine exists in the ArcGIS Pro world? There could be a way to create a standalone application using ArcGIS Pro SDK . I saw that CoreHost application option in the SDK and found that it is a console application. dear Readers, using a mosaic dataset we successfully published an imagery service to our single machine DEV AGS 10.8.1 single node server.  We wanted more people accessing the same service to do some testing. The same mosaic dataset failed to publish on our 3 machines load balanced (LB) TEST AGS 10.7.1 server using ArcGIS Pro 2.7.x and Catalog 10.8.1. Publishing failed to 3 machines LB after a long wait on Arc Catalog: Total size of MRF imagery is 10.1 TB. Service definition folder size = 35 GB. It spins for many minutes (close to 1 hour) and reports an error. Failed to create service definition. ERROR 001269: Compressing the service definition failed. Failed to execute (StageService).   Publishing with ArcGIS Pro also failed to the 3 machine LB AGS TEST 10.7.1: ArcGIS Pro processed it faster than ArcCatalog but still reported an error: Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Publishing web layer (AGS) Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Submitted. Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Executing... Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Executing (Publish Service Definition): PublishServiceDefinition i8861ce24-1650-4ea2-a1ca-200c4d3b6223 # {"buildInitialCache":false} Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Start Time: Tue Jun 1 13:23:48 2021 Status: InProgress StatusMessage: ERROR 999999: Error executing function. Status: InProgress StatusMessage: No resource could be found at that address. (status code 404). Status: InProgress StatusMessage: Failed to execute (Publish Service Definition) search for Publish service definition error documents on the internet did not provide much info.   We inferred that server configuration of AGS TEST 10.7.1 might be incorrect: compared 3 machines LB TEST 10.7.1 machines Site-->Data Stores with DEV 10.8.1 machine and the entries were the same. when we tried validation, all raster store entries in the 3 machine LB came back with a question mark and all entries on the single machine  DEV 10.8.1 came with a green check mark.   Log from 3 machine LB with a search filter = warning or higher: Error executing tool. PublishServiceDefinition Job ID: jd9e11726cdf648969eee229f9c5cc2c2 : ERROR 999999: Error executing function. No resource could be found at that address. (status code 404). Failed to execute (Publish Service Definition). System/PublishingTools.GPServer No resource could be found at that address. (status code 404). System/PublishingTools.GPServer Job submitting to delegate failed. System/PublishingTools.GPServer Unable to process request. Error handling service request :Could not find service.
