Thanks for your reply, I also tried to use ARR, but I don't understand an issue: the reverse proxy works, but when I try to access the portal home page from the proxy URL, portal response is a redirect (http 302) and the browser is redirected to the original web adaptor URL. is it something you experienced? because what I expect from a proxy is that it hides the destination URL. Thank you.

I'm using urlUtils.addProxyRule for a service and I cannot understand why every request is a GET request. the problem is that if I try to use a QueryTask using a large polygon as param, it doesn't send a POST request, but it tries to send a GET request: obviously the length of the URL is more than 2000 chars and it doesn't work (the polygon has a large number of vertexes in its ring). it seems that using urlUtils.addProxyRule the API doesn't recognize that if the request params are too large, it has to use a POST request and not another GET.

I forgot to mention that I've installed the ArcGIS Server 10.1 SP1 (10.11 version). I didn't first install the 10.1 base version.

we use web adaptor with ssl, because is the only way to avoid ssl certificate warning message from ArcMap. with IP address it's the same, i cannot see any service if I specify username and password everything works fine in ArcMap/ArcCatalog if I don't specify username and password at all and there are some services configured for anonymous access (I can browse and show them in the map).

SQL Server connection authentication doesn't use integrated security, it's another server, so it uses SQL Server security: there is a specific user that is configured to access the membership DB from ArcGIS Server. sisal2 is one of the users stored in the membership db and created in the ArcGIS Server manager, its role has grants to access the map service I'm trying to show in ArcMap. I don't have any problem if I try to access map service via REST protocol. My guess is that when using SOAP protocol (the one used by ArcMap/Arc Catalog) ther is a problem trying to connect to the db server (I mean something related to ports, protocols, etc.)

I've installed ArcGIS Server 10.1 configuring security on a SQL Server user store (migrating from 10.0) I used the admin REST to set up SQL Server connection string and everything went fine: I can see and modify all the users and roles in the manager web interface I can set services user accessibility in the manager web interface I can log-in into the REST services web interface and see all the services the user can access But I have a problem: I cannot access any service from ArcCatalog. The connection to ArcGIS Server is fine (no error from ArcCatalog UI), but I cannot see any service I set the log detail to DEBUG and what I have is in the attacched file: it seems that it cannot access the SQL Server user store when using SOAP. Is there something wrong in my configuration or something I have to do I didn't? Thanks in advance

thank you for your response let me understand: you are saying that there's no out of the box support to mxd field settings... I have to manually format my field values using a template, so if I want something automatic I have to develop myself a sort of field value builder great... but why the rest API "htmlPopup" return a table with all the values formatted as in the mxd project?

Hello, I have the following problem - ArcGIS Server machine under a proxy server - ArcMap installed on that machine can access all the Bing base maps through the ArcCatalog proxy settings - I have an ArcGIS Server GP service written in Python that opens an mxd, zooms to an envelope, activates one of the 3 Bing base maps and the exports the resulting map to jpg image - running the script through ArcMap interactively works good - running the published GP service fails because of a time-out trying to access Bing base maps. it seems that proxy settings in a mxd project opened through a ArcGIS Server GP service, don't work or are not accessible. How can I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance
