Hi Paul, Is there an updated list of tablets best suited for field work? This is very helpful, and what are your thoughts on phone chips? Thanks so much.

Hi! I'm attempting to have my instance_name include my site name and the date the survey was collected. This is what I have in my instance_field: concat(${WorkDate}," ", ${SiteName}) The site name always comes through fine, but the date is just this long list of numbers. Maybe the date field is too long? it shows up as the day, month, day of month and year. I don't really need day, but I don't know how to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Doug, I needed a few more instructions though- I did find these videos that were VERY helpful. Although, I need to share my survey with contractors who don't have AGOL accounts- so I'm trying to have the survey as a link in the pop-up of a web map. I'm getting an error when I click on the survey link in my phone. Ugh. so close.

Hi Everyone, I really need some guidance! I want to create a Survey123 form where field staff can go out and collect data on a particular site, adding surveys as work on the sites progress so that people back in the office can click on the site in a dashboard or web map and get a history of work being done at site. I started out creating a survey in Survey123 Connect, but later realized that to get what I need, I should have creating a point feature class in ArcPro, with the tables I need- publishing the map so I have a Feature Layer with point and tables, THEN creating the survey123 form from the feature class in Connect. I'm watching YouTube videos and looking at blogs to learn how to do this from beginning to end, but I'm just getting more confused. This is what I have: Create a point layer and tables in ArcPro Create a Relationship Class (this connects the point layer and table?) Add an Attribute Index (no idea why I need this) Publish the map (not sure if it needs to be hosted or not) Open Survey123 Connect and find Feature Class- and turn into survey (but the "Apply EditWithGlobalID" error message keeps coming up) Then I guess, fix up the survey, and publish. Then field staff can submit surveys... maybe. 🙂 Any guidance would be GREAT! I know there must be a How-To guide that I'm just not finding. Thanks!! What needs to happen in ArcPro? somthing about creating a relationship class and then "add attribute index"? Is there a how-to document or a video that goes through this process? Am I even doing this the correct way?

I have a data set that has multiple sample points in the same location. For an example, contaminants were collected at house A on 5 different dates. I'm trying to show a symbology of Graduated colors to show the differences in the contaminants, but need the most recent date to show up first. How do I do this? I don't see any locations to filter by date when I create my symbology. Thanks for any help!!

Is there a way to control the sizes of symbols when they are clustered? I have a feature layer in a web app, and I have the data clustered so when a person opens the map, there aren't 50,000 points. But the clusters smallest symbols are really small and hard to see. Thanks for any help!

Thanks so much for testing out the 7Zip vs. Extract Package tool. It makes sense that the non-gis extract tool would need another folder for the esri information. One last question- I promise, do you know why there are always two folders? I extracted two different map packages, and both have two folders that seem to be holding the same info. Looks like your example did the same thing with the v10 and v108 folders. Again- thanks so much for your help.

Do you need to "extract" the package? Is the mpk like a zipped file basically?

Map Packages: I received 8 map packages from a client, I need to make sure all the data is there because they are leaving the project I'm working on. My questions are: -Is there a special way to open a map package? I've just been double clicking on the mpk in ArcCatalog, but I noticed there are actual map projects within the map package, should I be opening them instead? -The data seems to be saving in my C drive? Don't I want the data and the maps to be in the same location? -When I open some of the attribute tables, They are empty. When I click on a field, a "table window" pops up saying There was a problem sorting, An expected Field was not found or could not be retrieved properly". Is there anything else I should do to make sure all the data was transferred in the mpk? Thank you so much in advance!

Hi Chris- I ended up using a web map application instead of the dashboard, and it works much better. I also needed to let folks download data and also print maps- so the web map works out better for me for those specific reasons too.
