Thank you for that Rachel. I do remember when I spoke to someone at the UC Conference last year, they offered this explanation as well. The line feature works best. Good news is that I did find out the reason for the different outputs. It had to do with the settings I had in place. For the Length cost, the value was defaulting to the "Shape" field. I changed it to the "Miles" field and that helped out a lot. Pro showed the same results as ArcMap. I'm happy that it was just that!

I appreciate your take on this. That does make a lot of sense. Pro might just have improved results over ArcMap. I have asked Esri about this in the past, and I was given a similar answer to yours. Basically the two programs have different results for reasons that can't really be explained. Kind of like getting different routing results based on Google and Bing maps.

When I create a Network Dataset in both ArcMap and ArcPro with the same data and same settings (I think), i get slightly different results. Specifically for Drive Times. The polygons results for the drive times will be slightly different in Pro than what I got in ArcMap. It can be different by 700 feet. There's a possibility the settings I'm setting up aren't exactly the same from the two programs, but if they are are exactly the same, should they produce the same results? If so, I need to really look into my setting on Pro to find out which settings I'm not matching to ArcMap. Since the process to create a Network Dataset is a little different from ArcMap and ArcPro, is there something I need to really catch that I'm missing? It's a slightly vague question, but I'm hoping there might be a simple answer.

Is there a way to do this without using computer programming and by just using the "Configure App"?

Where do you work and what is your role? I'm Christina Lindsay and I'm a GIS Analyst from Riverside County Flood Control and Water Conservation District. My current role, along with the rest of the GIS team, is to help the District manage digital District facilities; update other GIS layers in SDE; analyze and geoprocess data, as well as assisting the rest of the District staff with any GIS needs. What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? (big or small - no win is out of bounds) We are currently updating the Assessor parcels in the western portion of Riverside County to be more spatially accurate. Since we have over 800,000 parcels it's a huge process. We are over 50% done. We have been using the Parcel Fabric to accomplish this task. What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community? My expertise is research and working as a team to find the best possible solutions. We have many requests to assist the District and we always try to find the best accommodations for them.

In ArcGIS Pro it would be nice to only have attribute tables open for a Map that is currently being viewed. I'm trying to take advantage of using multiple maps in one ArcGIS Pro project. In ArcGIS Desktop I created several mxds, but in Pro i combined all these mxds into one .aprx. These mxds had a layer that was the same name in each one, but each contained different data. For example, there was a layer called "MasterFeatureClass" in each mxd, but the data itself was different. When I imported these mxds into ArcGIS Pro it made it simpler in the fact that I didn't have to open each mxd. The problem is that when I open up "MasterFeatureClass" for a particular map that is on display it still stays up when I click onto another map. It confuses me and I think this is the table for the map that I switched over to. I tried renaming "MasterFeatureClass" in the Table of Contents to make them unique so I would know which table belongs to which maps. However, I have a python set up and it didn't like when I renamed the labels. I also tried grouping the attribute table to the same tab as the map. This works, but not if I'm viewing more than two maps since it will get cluttered. To avoid confusion it seems the only way is to close each map and only have one open at a time. This works, but it would be nice to have more than one map if they are both needed. So having the attribute tables open for only the active map would be helpful.

Thanks for your reply Kory! I tried what you suggested. It does help me in the idea of playing around with the different views and groups which is something i didn't think of before. I will suggest this idea to ArcGIS Ideas. Thanks for the thought! Christina

So now I'm just trying to figure out how to only have the attribute table open for the current map and not any other maps that are in my Pro session. Is there a way to do this?
