Hi Guys, Is there any specific trick to create a connection from ArcCatalog to a pluggable 18c database? The database is installed on Windows Server 2019 and I am able to connect to it's $CDB container from ArcCatalog. SDE schema is created on a pluggable container and I can't login no matter the connection info I use: - tns name (XEPDB1) - full connection string (HOSTNAME:1521/XEPDB1) ********************************************************************** Fail to connect to specified server. Do you want to continue? Bad login user. *********************************************************************** ArcCatalog is hosted on another Windows Server machine (same network). I am able to login with SQLPlus from ArcCatalog machine, including to the pluggable container. I have both 32/64bits clients. I do not see anything in the log locations (e.g. C:\Users\%user_profile%\AppData\Local\Temp) Thank you, Daniel

Isn't it that ArcGis write this information into Oracle? How come ArcGis cannot read what it is writing?

Thanks George. No harm can be done in this case. I only have a db backup from the customer and we are trying to analyze their network. We are stuck at N_1_JTOPO/PAGELOB, hoping to get information about junctions and edges. I thought ArcGis tools can interpret blob data and help us extract the data out.

Thanks George. You are right, it's a Geo Network table. The table has a blob field and I want to read it's information (junctions to edges connections). Do you know if ArcCatalog, ArcMap or other tool can read this field and how? Thank you, Daniel

Hi All, Can you please advise if there's a way to extract coordinates from N_1_JTOPO table/PAGELOB field? Can it be done somehow using ArcCatalog/ArcMap? Or there's simply an Oracle matter of extracting binary data (painful). Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you, Daniel

Hi Experts, I need your help to answer 3 questions about some Electric Geometric Networks. I have a .dmp file from an oracle database, from an older production environment. I imported it into a test environment for a third party consultant, and we are trying to decrypt the Geometric Networks there were. Looking at the N_(ID) tables in SDE schema, seems that there are 4 such Geo Networks. The questions I need answer are below. My apologies, I am a beginner in this area... 1. Why there are 4 Geometric Networks in the first place? Couldn't be just only one (eventually bigger)? 2. Can these Geo Nets be connected between them, and how can we find out? 3. Can they have duplicate IDs (numbers) for edge and junctions? Or how can we find out... Many thanks!

Ok, the only thing that worked was to install ArcGis Desktop to another machine. I tried uninstall, delete folders, alter registers. No success. Once it is authorized on a server IP/address, it can't be reinstalled at the same address. Or can be, but it is too complicated (thanks Microsoft for this).

Hello, I recently upgraded my ArcGis Desktop instance from 10.2 to 10.5.1. Ever since I get an error and I can't open Catalog or any other program. Before the upgrade, everything was fine. Is this upgrade path supported?

Hi Jacob, Thank you for your reply. My answers: 1. Standalone server. 2. No. My company's ArcGis Desktop license expired these days and it will take some time to renew it. 3. Already did it (please see the attachment). The connection is valid. Please advise. Daniel

Hi, Please help me resolve the below error. I am trying to publish a .sd file service using Server console. The error is misleading, because the database is configured. Attaching screenshots. Just hit this issue with ArcGis Portal 10.4.1. and didn't find any resolution on Esri Community. I fixed it by setting the browser proxy to Auto-detect proxy settings for the network (Mozilla Firefox).
