Been following Kelly Morrow's blog on Arcade expressions but need help writing a statement that would produce a pop up to enter a value in a field if another field is or is not populated. For example if a field for a measurement is left blank then there must be a reason that needs to be captured in another field which is in the Collector app. Also, if there is a certain value entered in a field, then a pop up would appear that instructs the user that another field must be filled in. Is this possible? I have some experience with coding but need a refresher. See screen shot of attributes attachment.

Hi, This is similar to what I want to do in my Collector app. I need to write a statement that would force the user (or a message would pop up) to enter a value in a field if another field is or is not populated. For example, if a field for a measurement is left blank, then there must be a reason and that means the NM or No measurement field must be populated. this is a domain drop down selectable field. ( I can't seem to add a screen shot so may have to create a new question) . Also, if in the drop down field is equal to a certain value (0, 6, or 7) then a pop up would appear that instructs the user that another field (comments) must be filled in. It can't be that difficult but I have zero experience with writing Arcade expressions so any help is much appreciated!

Lance, Just and FYI I am now only using AGOL but can’t get the table to appear for one of the 2 feature layers. I would eventually like to have everything work in Collector so I’m going to keep trying your suggestions. Siran D. Thank you Lance. I will be working on this hopefully this week but will stay in touch. Siran D. Erysian, M.A., GISP, Research Data Analyst II Think Spatially Department of Water Resources 3374 E. Shields Ave, Rm. A-1, Fresno, CA 93726 (559) 230-3312 Siran.Erysian@water.ca.gov

Correct. The field techs are going to look at each hosted feature layer in AGOL now since we are off season, and make some decisions on removing some of the well points based on the attributes and the historic data that the link in the table will provide to them. I want them to be able to edit the feature layers to note which ones to drop. The join I did within AGOL worked but will not allow for editing. Thanks for all you help! I’ll be back in the office tomorrow afternoon. Siran D. Erysian, M.A., GISP, Research Data Analyst II Think Spatially Department of Water Resources 3374 E. Shields Ave, Rm. Lance, I published a service with 2 feature layers that have the relationship classes. I included the table in each geodatabase. When I open my map in AGOL one of the 2 hosted feature layers has the link to the table, (show related records) the other one doesn’t. Why would that be? I was hoping I could have 1 table in the map and many layers each with a relationship class to that same table. I have 21 layers I need to put in a map. The table appears in the published map and 2 hosted feature layers. Please get back to me when you can about this. I need to have this available this week at the latest. Siran D. Lance, Looks like I need to copy the related table to each of the geodatabases. There is no way to create a relationship class with a table if its in another geodatabase. Is this correct to the best of your knowledge? DWR Hyperlink_wells_all is the external table I copies to this gdb. Siran D. Lance, This worked! However, now I want to strip all my data fields to null and I can’t seem to do that in the now joined table in SQL or Arcade. I am trying to use the Calculate function and not familiar with Arcade trying in SQL: = ‘ ‘ or field = NULL but it does not work. Looks like I must strip data before joining to table. Any other ideas? Siran D. Erysian, M.A., GISP, Research Data Analyst II Think Spatially Department of Water Resources 3374 E. Shields Ave, Rm. I have several hosted feature layers that I publish as a service. I want to join an external table to each of these feature layers which has a field with a url I want users to be able to view. I joined the table to each of the layers but after I published and viewed the layers in AGOL, the table was not attached. Does AGOL support joins? Is there another way to attach this table to each of the hosted feature layers to be visible in the Collector app that we are using these layers for? I converted the Excel table to a geodatabase table before the join process.

Brian, Thank you for your response. I have been working with an ESRI technician and so far they have not been able to resolve the issue. But what you say makes sense because I’ve done with before (merge) but with shapefiles and it worked fine. I’m trying to take files from several different geodatabases because I exported them from collector and wanted to maintain the attachment links. But I don’t think I Need to worry about that. So what I might try as you suggested, is to create a new file geodatabase and export each file into that gdb. Then I’ll try the merge. Thanks for your response! I’ll let you know if it works. I have several feature datasets downloaded from a Collector field session that I want to merge to a new map. My merge process fails telling me that the collection contains multiple Global ID fields. I tried turning them off but that did't help. There is no way option to delete them. Anyone have this issue?

I see this is an old post but I have an issue when trying to merge several feature classes and the process fails telling me that I the collection contains multiple Global ID fields. So yes there is a chance that Global ids can be duplicated. I can't seem to delete any of the fields and turning them off does not work. If you are still out there please help!

Jake, Having trouble with the merge tool. It is telling me that 'the collection contains multiple Global ID fields' which I cannot delete. I turned them off in all of the layers but am still getting the error. Any suggestions?

What is the best way to combine several files into one large file? I have point files in a number of geodatabases I used in Arc GIS on-line and want to combine them into one single file. There are photo attachments with each and I would like those to persist. The only think I can think of is the Append function. All the files have the same field names. Anyone know of any other method? I ultimately want to use this file in a Web Mapping application.
