The Calculate Composite Index tool and its output charts are great, with the real value being the way the chart and the map can both be responsive for greater understanding and exploration. However, the Relationship of scaled variables and index chart is only responsive one way (i.e. clicking on a feature in the map will highlight it throughout the chart), rather than both. Still really good, and manually recreating any of the scatterplots will allow for that dual functionality, but it'd be awesome to click on an outlier dot on the Relationships chart and find it on the map without taking the extra steps.

Along these lines, could there be a "Show All" option? As an Administrator, this could be a great timesaver.

Right now, I have the ability to make an entire layer in my map visible in the legend, and I can individually select which of its component layers to turn on/off in the legend. But I'd like to either replace the legend with an image (as was suggested in another idea), or have a way to turn off all the underlying component layers that are duplicates. The problem I'm encountering is that my tiled image layer was generated from over 400 raster tiles with identical symbology…and now my legend in the Map Viewer is showing the symbology of each input raster (see attached screenshot). Yes, I can click on all 400+ sub-layers individually, but there are multiple tile layers where this is the case for my map. Hoping there's a better way!

I am using Pro 3.1.2 and trying to insert a pie chart into my layout with a legend. When I noticed a legend label is truncated, I increase the element's width until it appears. However, with this chart making it wider doesn't appear to fix it (nor would I want the chart that far from its legend!). Is there a setting to help resolve this? Thanks, Kellee

It's great to have so many patch shape options for my vector data in the legend, but for rastor it appears the sole choice is rectangles. It's holding me back from taking full advantage of the vector options because legends with a few of each type of data don't look as clean. Case in point: I'd like to break out of this legend box, so to speak, by having other legend patch shapes like circles for my raster data.

It's been great seeing the expansion of color ramps in both Desktop and Online, but it seems like the options in Online are outpacing the ones in Desktop (not to mention the assistance in filtering ramps by criteria like colorblind friendly). I've learned of the workaround to incorporate Online's color ramps into my Desktop projects, but it would be better to just access the full range of color ramps (and preferably help filter options) directly in Desktop.

It was great seeing the color-ramp selection now includes helpful criteria (e.g. colorblind friendly). But some of these criteria aren't mutually exclusive. Can you enable selecting multiple criteria to help users make better color ramp selections?

When making a map using the pie or bar chart feature, the legend includes sample circles and bars. It would be great to have the ability to change the text above either in the legend to better describe what they're seeing. Here’s an example map, with the part I want to modify highlighted:

I often create proportional dot, and proportional pie chart maps. Currently, the legend gives 3 sample circle sizes, but the associated units are often...unintuitive. Just like we can adjust and fix the units for a scalebar, it would be great to specify what dot values we want in the legend for the circle part.

Thanks Amanda, I was hoping to just use the Living Atlas layer without exporting a subset, but after reading the thread I'm trying that approach. One thing I'm noticing is that this hillshade appears to have that dateline relic issue beginning at a certain zoom level--when zoomed in the tiles seem to be fine. So the only solution I'm currently seeing is to export the zoomed-in extent for that island which crosses the dateline, and overlay it on the full extent at the appropriate resolution (that cuts off at the dateline). It's fine, especially because it's such a small area and not the theme of my map, but not the look I was hoping to achieve.

Have you tried using Enable Symbol Layer Drawing option in the Symbology tab? Once enabled, you may need to manually reconfigure the category order to match which symbologies you want to render on top of others.

I am creating a time-enabled animated map of Fiji using a hillshade layer from the Living Atlas. While it renders fine in Desktop, when I export the animation the hillshade stops at the Dateline. Is there anything I can do on my end to fix it? Here's the area in Desktop: and a screenshot from the animation:

I am trying to create a time-enabled animation of point data with dynamic text (based on time) and a static chart. When I export it, the dynamic text and chart are both crisp, but the map itself becomes fuzzy. This seems to be the case regardless of resolution or frames per second. I've been using MP4 format for most attempts; when I switched to AVI both the text and map were fuzzy. Any suggestions of what else to try?

Scale bars provide useful context, but so often the initial length is not what you want and it seems the only way to get there is to manually adjust the bar's width (clicking and dragging or changing the width in the Format Ribbon's Size & Position). What if there was the option to say I want my scale bar to be X map units (e.g. 100 km long) and it adjusts automatically?
