I am new to the GIS Administration world and struggling to wrap my head around this. Currently we are using SQL Sever 14 with a single SQL Server instance for all our enterprise GIS needs. Hundreds of SDE databases with millions of features and large terrain datasets all on this single instance. Is there a better way to approach this? Any best practices from ESRI? What is the best way to determine if we need to configure more SQL Server instances?

I am trying to connect Survey123 to our new Enterprise Portal. Our Portal is federated with ArcGIS Server and our security is managed by AD. I can successfully get to the Survey123 site using our portal url (https://survey123.arcgis.com/?portalUrl=https://exampleportal.esri.com/arcgis) but when I click 'Sign In' I get a 404 error: I have gone to my ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory and added survey123.arcgis.com as an AllowedOrigin Any ideas what could be going on here?

Hi Derek. Is it possible to store the ArcGIS Online named user in the attribute table when a point is collected? We are running a hybrid setup here. I just posted a question with more details: https://community.esri.com/thread/239852-collector-editor-tracking-from-sde-populate-arcgis-online-username Thanks!

We have a rest service hosted on our enterprise geodatabase that is being referenced in ArcGIS Online for offline field data collection. We have editor tracking enabled but each point populate 'ESRI_Anonymous' as the editor. We are looking for a solution where the AGO username gets populated into an editor tracking field. Is there an Arcade expression that can accomplish this? Problem: Problem: Esri_Anonymous is displayed in the attribute field when Editor tracking is enabled References: ArcGIS Online - SDE Feature Service Editor Trac... | GeoNet, The Esri Community | GIS and Geospatial Professional Commun…

I have two polygon feature classes: Basins, and Nexrad. Nexrad contains a field called 'value' which contains floating point numbers. I am trying to populate a new field with the sum of 'value' for all intersecting nexrad polygons for each basin feature. I am trying to loop through each basin, select all nexrad polygons that intersect the selected basin, calculate the sum of the 'value field in nexrad, and add that sum to a new field in the basins. Right now my script loops through correctly but only adds the sum from the last 'select by location'. # Import Modules
import arcpy
import os
import numpy
from arcpy import env
# Set environment and workspace
env.workspace = r"W:\Citrix\34000s\34624\001\GIS\RainfallDepthTool\RainfallDepth_NK.gdb"
arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True
print ("Environment set!")
# Set ariables
basins = r"W:\Citrix\34000s\34624\001\GIS\RainfallDepthTool\RainfallDepth_NK.gdb\Basins"
nexrad = r"W:\SAN\34000s\34624\001\DataIn\NEXRAD_9_22\shp\hourly\KEWX_N1P_20180922_075800.shp"
# Add a field to the basins to be populated with Nexrad polygon value
arcpy.AddField_management(basins,"NexradValue","FLOAT")
# Create Feature Layers
arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management(basins,'basinLyr')
arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management(nexrad,'nexradLyr')
print ("Layers created!")
field = 'Shape@'
with arcpy.da.SearchCursor('basinLyr', field) as cursor:
for row in cursor:
# Get geometry to use in select by location
geom = row[0]
# Select nexrad polygon that intersect the selected basin
x = arcpy.SelectLayerByLocation_management('nexradLyr', 'INTERSECT', geom, '', 'NEW_SELECTION')
# Calculate the sum of the 'value' field in the selected nexrad polygons
field = arcpy.da.TableToNumPyArray (x, 'value')
sum = field['value'].sum()
print(sum)
arcpy.CalculateField_management('basins','NexradValue',float(sum))
print ('Field Calculated!')
print ("Done!!!")

Figured it out: Certain 'ESRI' fields were hidden in the webmap so they would not appear as in the popups. ObjectID and Shape fields specifically. Once these were visible again, Collector worked as expected.

I am having an issue when I collect points in the field, I add a new point using my gps location, fill in all my required attribution, take a photo, and hit submit. It submits successfully but the point geometry does not draw or show up in the map. Back in the office, the point still doesn't show up in ArcMap but the attribute table contains a new record with all the data I filled in for the new point. This process works fine in the Classic Collector app. Any ideas what could be going wrong here?

Better late than never but I found a solution to Error 000229 when using an iterator in model builder. Little background, the model was to loop through a folder of shapefiles and project each one to a specified coordinate system. I'm seen many others getting this issue when trying to clip, dissolve, ect. My solution was the add a spatial index to each shapefile. Through catalog, right click each shapefile, index tab, add index, hit apply. After doing so, everything worked as planned.

How would I implement this into a field calculator expression? I'm a beginner with python but I could use some help. Basically I'm trying to implement this but rather than print the OID I want to populate a 1 for closed polylines and 0 for open. Thanks.
