We use the Line Network model in ArcGIS Pro 3.1.7 and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1. We have also set up both route/line ID and route/line name fields. I understand there are two ways to rename these. One is to use the Rename Route tool. It renames route/line names across all time slices without changing route/line IDs. The second way is to use the Reassign tool. It renames route/line names in a time slice but it also generates new route/line IDs essentially creating a brand new route/line. What we need is a way to rename route/line names for a single time slice (the latest) without changing route/line IDs. Our ramps change their names if their milepost change (please do not tell me this is a bad naming convention. I do not have any control over that). We need to keep the historical names as well as the current names because some external systems or documents might refer to ramps using their historical names depending on when they got the names for ramps. So, for example. when a ramp "003P104085" was renamed to "003P104079" on 6/30/2023, we want to rename route/line names for the latest time slice (6/30/2023 - NULL) to the new name without changing the route/line names for the historical time slice (1/1/1900 - 6/30/2023) while keeping the GUIDs consistent. Please advise how we can accomplish this. Thank you. Masao

I found out there is an enhancement request ENH-000137900: Improve the ServerValidation capability to no longer display errors in the ArcGIS Server logs nor have ArcGIS Pro call the ServerValidation endpoint if the capability is not enabled during publishing. It says it is implemented in 3.4. Hopefully that is true.

I have asked this question in RHUG as well but did not hear from anyone at ESRI so reposting here. How to correct from or to-dates in routes? For example, we realigned a route with from-date of 8/2/2023. Later on, we were told that the actual realigned date was 6/2/2023. ArcGIS Pro does not allow me to edit the from-date. What should we do to correct this? We need to fix the from-date of the new time slice and to-date of the old time slice. What is the correct way to fix this route? NOTE: We are using the line network (not sure if this makes any difference or not). Thank you.

Ryan, That is what we need to do currently. I talk to my colleagues, and we decided to add another field so we do not have to query through the time slices to get the from-date from the oldest one. This means when we initially create a new event, we need to enter the same date twice (from-date and the new date field). Also I can add an attribute rule to populate the new date field as well. This is what I am thinking with my limited knowledge but any suggestions are welcome.

Clive, Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping to avoid having multiple dates but it seems we have to in this case. Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Masao

Hello, RHUG community, The from-dates of events change every time the underlying routes are realigned or edited. For example, when an underlying route is realigned, new time slices are created for the events on that route. In the new time slice, the from-dates of events are the realigned date. How do users query the original from-date of these events? This behavior makes sense within the realigned section, but events that are outside of the realigned section are also affected since they are on the same route. Do we have to add another field to store the date those events became valid? Note: Not sure if this makes any difference or not but we are using the line network model. Thanks for any advice or insight on this issue. Masao

I am wondering if anyone installs ArcGIS Server 10.9.1 Utility Network and Data Management Patch? It includes some location referencing fixes that I do not see installed with other patches. We do not use Utility Network, so not sure if we should or not. We are not ready to upgrade to 11.x yet, so wondering. Thanks for any advice. Masao

Yes, it is branch versioned. So, you are saying we must store all dates in UTC. We are doing that currently. The Event Editor is displaying dates that are not correct, so that is the issue right now.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the fix! Do you still recommend to store all the dates in UTC inside Roads and Highways (FromDate, ToDate, Editor Tracking fields, etc)?

Amit, Thanks for the quick reply. I have followed the document you linked. The document tells me to set the Time Zone to Pacific Time. That resulted in all the dates shown as the next days. I followed the latest help document instead and set the Time Zone to UTC and Preferred Time Zone to Pacific. That resulted in showing everything in UTC although I set the Preferred Time Zone to Pacific. The attached screenshot from Event Editor is showing a few features that were edited on 12/12. One of the edits were done at 4:04 PM PST (12:04 UTC). EE_TZ-UTC_Prefer-PT.png (Time Zone: UTC, Preferred: Pacific): One is showing as 12/13. EE_TZ-PT_Prefer-None.png (Time Zone: Pacific, Preferred: None): All are showing as 12/13.

Editor tracking records date and time in UTC. We would like to show the Editor Tracking fields in the local time instead of UTC in Event Editor. Currently, if a user edits an event after 4 PM, it shows the next day since it is midnight according to UTC. How do I configure Event Editor so UTC time is shown in the local time? Thanks Masao

I was thinking something like that. It seems you have lots of routes (I saw your other post). So, this might not be practical. As I mentioned earlier, in my case, once I filled the first gap, I was able to fill the second gap. Since you only have one gap, this is a different case for the same error message. I wonder if you can go through ESRI Tech Support and let them get to the bottom of this issue. So ESRI can actually fix this issue. Sorry, not too helpful here.
