Yup! Things like how features are rendered or labels being displayed is handled in the map view and that is all powered by the Maps SDK you referenced. You could use binning in this case because we have support for styling your bins (clusters on the roadmap) So I would create the summary statistic field for sum on the number of ppl and then use that new field under the Bin styling where it can use the counts and amounts size. Have you tried using Clustering in Map Viewer first and then check that against the time slider in ExB? Quick example of a point layer using clustering with time. You can set the radius for the clusters, the scale threshold and some basic styling along with labels, popups and creating summary statistic fields.         ... View more

Currently not. For other users they may use a filter on a layer and moving to other removes all the symbol configuration that was made bc maybe they change the filter frequently to look at those other types and the legend matching to the features that are actually displayed in a map for that layer can make it clear to the viewers for values that exist and not having to look for values that are 0 and do not exist in the map.   ... This is expected - we made a note about the change under the smart mapping section of the post. When you setup a filter using the same field as the Types style you will see only the results returned by that expression.
