Hello,

I am a current GIS certification student trying to learn Python from the Python for everyone Module from ESRI.   During the module it prompts me to download Pythonwin with the following steps;

If you do not have PythonWin installed on your machine, perform the following steps to download it:
Go to http://sourceforge.net/projects/pywin32/files/pywin32/.
Click Build 218.
Click pywin32-218.win32-py2.7.exe.
When prompted, choose to Run the file.
Follow the prompts to install pywin32-218.

However when I try to install I receive a message saving that python version 2.7 is needed and can't find it in the registry.   It later asks for a Pyuthon Directory and an installation Directory.   I know I have python in the my Arcmap but can't locate a version type.   Can anyone help?

I think it should be here: C:\Python27\ArcGIS10.1

Try to be careful to not download a second copy of python, this can lead to trouble and confusion down the line.

Thank you, I found that folder but wasn't able to find any of the information in the readme files.   What is the difference between Pythonw and Pythonwin?  I don't want to make any mistakes that will take my program out of commission.
