Hi folks,

I have been looking forward to kicking the tires on this one. Congrats on getting it to beta.
We have a public group
http://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=AgCanada&title=Open%20Data#
We have 2 public hosted feature services in the group that are both public
http://www.arcgis.com/home/search.html?q=id%3A951c6de019854b82b6278e7ab7e686a7&t=content
http://www.arcgis.com/home/search.html?q=id%3A090d8da66e6b4008bd2c07a089a0f90a&t=content

Public access is off to http://data.aafc.opendata.arcgis.com/home

I cannot see data anywhere in the site ie. in recent items or searching on "plant" searching on nothing.

I must admit I have not fully been through the docs yet... but I think it would be good to see a full list of what can be added as content. Like this but for Open Data specifically.

Thanks,

James

Hi James,

Data from Hosted Features in ArcGIS Online does work, but there is an issue with this particular dataset. Thank you for reporting this, and we are looking into it.

Cheers,
Andrew

Are there any future plans to allow access to hosted feature services?  This would be of great benefit to organizations who are fully vested in hosting their own data.

Hi Andrew,

We do currently support Hosted Features (Feature Service) in ArcGIS Online. If you have some layers that won't work with your Open Data site, please post the URL here so we can take a look.

Thank you,
Andrew

Hosted URL:
http://maps.groton-ct.gov/arcgis/rest/services/Parcels/FeatureServer
No problems when adding that to An ArcGIS Online Map

ArcGIS Online URL:
http://services3.arcgis.com/5eUtyAeI50fTMNL4/arcgis/rest/services/Parcels/FeatureServer
Does NOT show up in ArcGIS Online Map
This is the URL that Open Data points to

Hi Andrew,

If you query your hosted service, you'll see there are no records in it. That's why it appears it's not displaying. The query was a simple 1=1, which will query everything. It looks like you may have to republish that service.

Hope that helps,
Andrew

Andrew-
I republished the service and still get the same result:

No Workie:
ArcGIS Online Service Query

Works:
Hosted Service

I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I am running 10.2.2.

I published some other feature services and I get the same result as above.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi Andrew,

Can you either post a link to in the forum, or send me a private message with a link to the Service Definition that gets uploaded when you publish a service? If you share it public and give me the link, I can download it and take a look.

Thanks,
Andrew

Same problem here.

Open data site is public:
http://vicroadsopendata.vicroadsmaps.opendata.arcgis.com/

Open data group enabled:
https://vicroadsmaps.maps.arcgis.com/home/group.html?owner=VicRoads&title=VicRoads%20Open%20Data

Public feature service added to group:
https://vicroadsmaps.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=a300eb5908e84deca9d540b4715cb749
https://services2.arcgis.com/18ajPSI0b3ppsmMt/arcgis/rest/services/Drive%20from%20KPSchools%20(5%20M...

Open data group can see the feature service within it, but the open data site cannot.  Data list and data map widgets also do not work (I presume because the site cannot see any open datasets available to it).

Great looking site, but if it can't access hosted feature services sitting in open data groups its not much use to us.

Cheers,
Evan.

For anyone else seeing similar issues, turns out having () in the site name causes problems.  Remove the () from your open data site name and the hosted feature services magically appear.  Thanks to Andrew for the answer...

Awesome work Andrew!  That's it.

I removed the () from the site name and immediately all hosted feature services in my open data group appeared.

Good stuff - cheers,
Evan.

I got the links from the Forum post... need to look, I think it might be the () in the name. Do you have other hosted Features that do not appear?
