Map data files will not share

Hello:  I am new to GIS online.  I have created a map and can see it in ArcGIS Online.  I share it and when I open it on the other end, the basemap is visible but none of the shape files appear.  It takes a long time to load and when it finishes there is nothing there.

I wonder if something got missed in the install and configuration?  The IT guy did all that but it was his first time and I am not sure if everything was done.

Any help would be appreciated!

When you say "shared it", did you just share the link or did you check the "share with everyone" box and the share the link?

Can you maybe share the link to this map here?

I have checked the boxes to share at UH and with everyone.

The link for the map is http://uh1.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=a8a4aa6bb31544439760bce9a670f765

or  http://bit.ly/148QMBd

But when I send these links to others to open they get the basemap but none of the layers.

Maria,

Can you go to "My Content" and also share the layers that are in your map with everyone? That might be the issue.

Yes, I have shared the map in My Content as well.  Im just wondering if there is something missing from the setup?

Actually looking at the data in your map, I think the problem is within the way the layers are hosted. I think people outside of your agency don't have permission to view those layers.

Any idea how to change the way the layers are hosted?  Ideally, I will share my maps with several colleagues in different states.

You need to ask your IT folks if this is a ArcGIS Webserver or just a local server.

http://localhost:6080/arcgis/rest/services/CDCProject/Agua_Project/MapServer/82

I think the bold part is the issue.

But since you have an organizational account you can just host those feature services yourself and then add them to your map.
With this ESRI is your "webserver" and everyone can see the layers you have hosted through your organizational account.

This will help you if you go that way: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q00000087000000
