Hi,

Is there a way to show lines with arrows at the end in a feature service? I need to show flow direction for sewer lines to users without ArcMap.

I think that only simple line symbols (not cartographic line symbols) are supported in web maps, as anything I publish with an arrow is changed when I open it in a web map.

Workarounds and other suggestions welcome!

Publish as a map service and then add that to your web map/web app in AGOL. The map service will preserve whatever symbology you've set in ArcGIS Desktop.

Good luck!

Thanks, that would work but I should of mentioned that ArcGIS for Server is not in budget for this project, so that is not an option.

Thanks, publishing as tiles does solves the problem.

I guess that I will have to publish it twice, as a map service and features, as users will need to interact with it.

You just need to watch out about how many credits it consumes, it might get expensive depending on the amount of updates to the layer.

this is not entirely true when a point feature is published as a service the integrity of the symbology is preserved.  However, for somereason line features will not preserver the symbology i hope ESRI is working on that as it is a key feature i would like to utilize  as well.
