I've been working on a webmap for my organization currently under a trial subscription. Since Wednesday, July 3rd I've been experiencing an unresponsive script error pop-up when doing anything with the webmap (opening, zooming, editing, etc.) I'm working on a firefox browser, and the map size is only 344 KB, which I don't believe should be causing any issues. What else should I check to see if it's causing problems? Would anything that was rolled out in the latest update be causing this?
This is the message that shows in the pop-up:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
If your web map is referencing a large number of features in a feature layer (service) that could be causing problems as well. If you can share your map to everyone and post the URL here, I could look at it.
Hello, I'm receiving a simular error when trying to save a map for the first time.
I have imported a shapefile that is a site boundary. The file size is 10kb. When I try to save the map it just 'hangs' and does nothing. In the bottom left hand corner of the Internet explorer 8 window the error says:
"Webpage error details
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.2; .NET4.0C) Timestamp: Wed, 24 Jul 2013 11:00:33 UTC
Can you share the shapefile here so we can try to reproduce the problem? Usually this error means that there are too many graphic elements in the shapefile. If this is just a site boundary, my guess is that there are too many vertices in the polygon.
