I'm trying to use the storytelling map tour template and can't seem to get it to show up.  I've created the web app on ArcGIS Online, added some content, saved it, shared it publically, downloaded and configured the template.  When I click on the link, the page kind of opens but it never gets past the "Loading Application", doesn't load the data or start the tour.  Any assistance would be great.  Thanks

Hi,
It will be hard to tell without seeing the app.

If it stay locked on loading web application, it should not be an issue with your data.
Did you follow deployment guide (deploying on a webserver, configuring webmapid ?)

If you can share your webmapid and/or link to the app by private message, I will take a look.

Hello, thank you.  Yes I think I followed all the instructions.  The web map id is:  91aa6e7b8a164e86995fc96c90011f9b.  I did not configure the pop-ups as the directions stated the template was already set up.  Thanks again.

Hi RuthAnn
I looked at your web map:

http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=91aa6e7b8a164e86995fc96c90011f9b

and the points in the point  layer it contains don't have the correct set of attributes for use in the map tour, so the map tour template isn't able to display your map. It looks like your points have been formatted with the attributes required by the Shortlist template, not the Map tour template. Are you sure you are trying to use the Map Tour template? If so, review the Readme.pdf file that comes in the Map Tour template download, which lists the expected schema.

Hi Rupert,

Our webmaster tried the Storytelling Shortlist template and we got it to work a little better.  Here is the web map id for the second one:  91aa6e7b8a164e86995fc96c90011f9b.  Would you mind trying this one in the map tour template?  Thanks

Are you trying to make a story map using the Map Tour template or the Shortlist template? These templates expect a different set of attributes in the point layer(s) in the web map that you point them at, and are not interchangeable.

The Map Tour, just re-created a "Locations" shapefile with only the data fields that are shown in the Readme.pdf that came in the template download.

OK, I see that layer in your web map now:
http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=91aa6e7b8a164e86995fc96c90011f9b
This is better and will work now in the map tour template.

Hi, we did finally get it to work and I can see it on my iPad but doesn't work on the PC.  Do you know if there are any issues with IE 8?  That's the web browser we have on all the PC's.  Thanks

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience, yes there is some issues with IE8 depending on data.
The upcoming release (before UC) will fix that.
