F5 Load Balancer causing too many Database Connections

We are in the process of upgrading from 10.0 to 10.1. Currently we are running ArcGIS and ArcGIS Server 10.0 with an Oracle 11g database (database connections via SDE). Our system also includes a Cisco ACE Load Balancer that directs calls to our ArcGIS Servers. Now we are required to change to an F5 load balancer instead. When we test our current setup with this new load balancer we see an extreme spike in database connections (eventually using all available connections to the database.)

We suspect that the F5 load balancer causes published map services to form persistent connections/sticky sessions, even though we have disabled this functionality according to the F5 load balancer's settings. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, or not experienced this issue while still using this load balancer? Has anyone any experience with the F5 load balancer and ArcGIS 10.1 (which uses direct connections to the database)?

    Thank You!
