Hi,

I'm working on an editable AGO Feature Service at http://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=a3b752e73c61475193a52f7163b45379

For the final Read only Status field I would like it to default to 'Submitted'.

The Feature Class on which this service is based has a domain with 'Submitted' as default value in the field
definition.  The MXD used also contains a feature template with 'Submitted' as the default value.

When opening the Feature Service in AGO and going to Edit>Click on the symbol>Click Manage>Click arrow on the symbol and go to
Properties "Edit the properties of the feature type template". The Status field is also defaulted to 'Submitted'

After all this the 'Status' field is not set to submitted when one creates a new feature using the above map i.e. it's null by default

Regards,
Richard

I can't reproduce your problem with my own service. I can see the default value I select. Can I try adding a feature to your service? The service does seem to be configured properly.

Try adding the service to a new web map and see if that helps.

Hi Mike,

Feel free to add features. I tried in a new web map without luck.

I may try recreating the service from scratch. I'm not sure what
the minimum requirements are for getting that value to default.

IE do I need to specify the default in the Feature Class, MXD Feature Template
and in the AGOL Feature type template or just one or 2 of these.

I'll experiment.

Richard

Ok Mike I do have the default values coming through but only if I go
in as admin on the Feature Service with full editing control.

What we are wanting to do is make the FS editable by anybody in
terms of being able to create new polygons and for that Status
field to default to 'Submitted' not just admins under full editing control.
