Hi, I am a graduate student working with topographic data from the coastal zone.  Due to my survey area being difficult to access and having challenging tidal conditions I quite tough time constraints when I carry out surveys.  My company's policy when creating DTMS frm surveys of the beach face and dunes is to carry out profile surveys every 50 metres alongshore on the beach, and every 10 metres alongshore on the dunes.

I want to create a DTM from this raw data, and have been advised to using kriging.  When I use the geostatistical wizard I end up with a surface that looks quite distorted, showing raised ridges along the lines I have surveyed, and troughs in between.  I am wondering if there is a way to get around this effect.  I am guessing it has something to do with the search neighbourhood options but I'm not very familiar with geostatistics and am not sure what I'm doing.

Any advice would be appreciated.
