I installed ArcGIS 10.1 for Server. After that I needed to change the host name. But after changing when I tried to join a site then a error message shows with the previous name(cannot find the old name local server) Then I uninstall the server and re-install it. Still it says cannot find the local server with the old name. I dont know where its getting the old name.
What's the exact error message? What happens if, instead of join a site you create a site?
Add Both Physical machine's IP address and Host name in the 'hosts' file which is located under the following location. C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc. See if that helps. If still a problem, try installing SP1. SP1 fixes a lot of bugs.
