How do I measure the area of a viewshed?
Is there a tool for this?
Or do I multiply the count by the cell size?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thanks very much.

count by cell size squared

Thanks for your response.
The cell size is in decimal degrees (0.00083333333), which I guess translates to 90 meters.
But the actual shape of the pixels is not square.
What am I missing?
Lots, I know.
If each cell is square, then it should be 8,100 square meters per cell or approximately 2.001553589884039 acres.
Does that sound correct?

You should be using projected data and not data in decimal degrees, project it to a suitable projection (eg UTM), then do the analysis, then determine the area

There are tools to tabulate zone areas for you (of course on projected rasters, as square degrees aren't really that useful as the actual area on the ground would vary from cell to cell throughout the grid).  The tools are:

  • Zonal Geometry

  • Zonal Geometry As Table

You guys really helped. Thanks a lot.
Once I projected the raster, everything fit very nicely.
I really appreciate it.

ArcGIS is not the easiest application to learn the self-taught route.

Thanks again.
