Pythonwin problem

I am having a weird problem with the pythonwin available on the ArcGIS desktop media.
When I am running any python scryt that has nothing to do with ArcGIS everything is cool.
once I import arcpy, whatever i do after that, the pythonwin will freaze and stop responding so i have to restart it and the same thing happens again and again !!

Has anyone faced a similar problem before? do you know how can i fix this problem ?

I guess the problem was that the workspace path was long
I changed my workspace to a shorter path and everything worked..

Is there any limitation on path length?? does it have anything to do with the operating system ?
