Hello!

I start reading about "Community maps program" and I have a question:

Do we "as participants" need to change the documentation coming with "CommunityMapTemplate.mxd" or is it kind of standard document that should helps us in the process of preparing our data?
Do we have to add any other documents with the data before submitting it?

Any reply is highly appreciated!

Hello khadijaalmohsin,

No, there is no need to change the documentation that is included with the download of the template. There is one feature class that is in the template geodatabase, WorldTopMapSources, that will need to be populated with citation information (both attributes and polygonial features). Please refer to this blog for more information on how to populate this feature class: http://blogs.esri.com/Dev/blogs/communitybasemap/archive/2010/11/19/Creating-the-Citation-Layer.aspx. The WorldTopMapSources_Example feature class, that is in the template geodatabase, can also be used for reference. Additionally, we will need to have a fully signed participation agreement (G-181) on file before we can publish your map.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Tamara Yoder
