Basemap thumbnails in web map application

Hi, we have a webmapping application on our website, my colleague has been working on it, and in the last few days/week, if you try to change the basemap, the drop down menu of options is displaying as below, instead of the usual thumbnails. If you select one it just change the base map, you just don't know what you are choosing.

As far as im aware this is the olny way to raise issues with ersi - is that correct?
