I am working on shortlist template v2.1.0. While customizing it, an appid is required. I am unable to make a shortlist app in my arc portal account and want to make it in arcportal. How to do?

If I switch to older version, I cannot individually view my selected tour point in the left gallery panel like in the new ones.

Solution to either of the two would be a great help

Regards

Hi,

If you download one of the Story Map apps to customize/self host it, you can point it at an application on a Portal for ArcGIS deployment.  However Story Map Shortlist isn't currently supported on Portal because it is still in beta. We'll be going final with Shortlist in a release mid-year, and then it should be available in the Portal for ArcGIS update after that.

The older, download-only version of Story Map Shortlist, version 1, uses a popup to display the info about the place (for example see this customized Shortlist of some cool architecture in Washtenaw County, MI) instead of displaying it in tab area like in version 2 (beta). At version 2 we made that design change in order to provide a bigger picture, more text space and browse buttons.

For more info and how to point a downloaded story map app at an app on Portal, please see this question in the Story Maps FAQ page:

PS. Off the record, if you are using Portal for ArcGIS 10.5 and you search your Portal for 'Story Map Shortlist' you may be able to find a entry for the app which lets you build a Shortlist. However this is unofficial, unsupported, and the Shortlist you create may not work in the next update to Portal, so don't use it for any production deployments.

Greetings,

I have worked with Github source code for the last few days, added the code to my web server where portal is installed, configured the index.html with my app id after adding and other configurations mentioned here (https://medium.com/story-maps-developers-corner/an-introduction-to-hosting-your-own-story-map-e24501... ; GitHub - Esri/storymap-shortlist: The Shortlist story map application template by Esri ) But at the end of the day, all i get is this: https://egis.dla-apphub.com/Shortlist/index.html .

It just spins its wheels. I am more or less, looking to just share out the template so that users in our Portal site can build out their own version of the ShortList Story Map. What am i missing? I have shared it with my web app gallery and looks ready to roll but the template there won't open the builder to begin building the actual short listshort list template

What am i missing? Do i need to insert a portal based sharing url in the config options? Do i need to insert updated parth for the pathJSAPI?

Any help is appreciated.
