Changing the attribute table in ArcGIS online feature layer

Hello,

Im new to ArcGIS online and its content. I've made a few apps now and realise I need to change the attribute table of the feature layer (hosted) i.e. add, edit, delete fields. Can anyone recommend how I do this without creating a new feature layer?
