I keep getting this error when trying to create a feature layer from a url in AGOL.  "This service type is not supported. Please specify a URL to a feature layer. The layer must include FeatureServer in the URL"

Has anyone seen this before? I created feature layers using the same rest url path a couple months ago without error.

Thanks

HI Samantha,

The service which is used as a reference will need to have feature access enabled. When adding the service, ensure that you use the /FeatureServer Url.

Thanks

Kelly

Hi Samantha,

Can you share the url that you are trying to add?

A few questions:

1. Are you adding a feature service url?

2. Are you using a feature service that has https enabled?

I would also recommend reaching out to Esri Technical Support if you want someone to troubleshoot the issue with you.

Hi Kelly,

1. I figured it probably had something to do with checking the "Feature Access" capability in my map service. (Currently having an issue registering my data folder.)

But here is a URL of a feature layer I currently have set up but now I get the above error if I use it to create a new feature layer:

http://gisserver2012/arcgis/rest/services/AGOL/GreeneCounty_Basemap/MapServer/0

It does not have "Feature Access" capabilities.

2. We are not using the https security option at this time.

Thanks for the response.
