I am working on a project to develop many applications on Apple and I was wondering if there is any progress on getting the IOS environment to allow viewing and  editing off line. This is very important as the mobile devices (iPhone, iPad) will be in and out of 3G coverage most of the time they are being use for field use. I would be happy to provide any contact info if you want to discuss this directly.

Here's a sample that'll allow you to view tiled maps offline - http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=faab53d140e44c02941bf7deb30d7d18

Hi Divesh,

The sample shows that we can view the map use the tiled maps when offline. Is there anyway we can identify the map layers when offline?

Thanks,

No, none of the tasks are designed to work in offline mode. If you want to identify/tap anything in offline mode then it has to be a graphic or feature layer.
