arcgis desktop search tool not workiing

The search tool in arcmap is not working in win xp sp3. while it is opening in arc catalogue.

the version of arcgis desktop 10.2.2

The search is working just fine in ArcMap 10.2.2.3552 on Windows 8.1. Support for XP ended April last year. Might be wise to consider updating the os...

Skip the built-in help...if you have web access while working in ArcMap, use the online help for 10.2.x    And help for 10.3 you may as well start looking at this link it is faster, more up-to-date than the built-in

Found a fix for this issue on the support site
