I am working on applying the settings from the DISA Database SRG to a server running ArcSDE 10.1 on top of Microsoft SQL server.  Several of the controls boil down to the need to turn on the "Force Encryption" option for the Network Client Protocols.  I am curious if anyone has done this in the past and if there are any gotchas to watch out for?  Mainly:

1. Does ArcGIS Desktop have any issues with this?

2. Will any websites using the standard ArcObjects have trouble?

And since, I am asking questions, has anyone applied any of the SQL Database STIG's to a box with ArcSDE, what did you run into?

We have applied the "Force Encryption" to our SQL 2008 R2 server which contains 10.2.2 databases.  We have not run into any issues with any GIS functionality.

I appreciate the feedback.  We also went ahead and applied the change.  So far no problems.
