Greetings,

I use ArcGIS Desktop 10 SP4,
and have a problem,
when you load linear spatial data in MGI_Balkans_5 coordinate system and add Bing Maps Aerial or Topographic basemap data do not match. Thay shifted of about 380 meters.
See 1. picture for reference
I have the same problem with the WMS service:
http://geoportal.dgu.hr/wms
But when I load scanned raster geocoded in a MGI_Balkans_5 coordinate system, everything is fine.
See 2. picture for reference

Any help is appreciated
Regards
Branimir

Hi Branimir,

The Bing maps is using WGS 84 Web Mercator Auxillory sphere coordinate system.  This is why it doesn't match your coordinate system for your data.  You will need to reproject your local data into the coordinate system for the WGS84 Web Mercator  if you want to make it line up permanetly or use the data frame to do projection on the fly.

There are lots of KB articles on the support site for reprojecting data.

Regards,
Eric
