Hello---I??m working on creating a map series involving the USGS 24K quad index. I need to create grids for the quads, and I want to use the standard grids and graticules found on a USGS topo sheet. I??ve tried using the ??Make Grids and Graticules Layer? tool using the grid templates (xml), specifically, the ??Quad_24K_NAD83.xml template. It works fine for one feature, but what I need is an automated way to create grids for multiple quads. Is this possible? Am I approaching this the right way by using the template .xml files? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi Erik,

If you use the Make Grids and Graticules Layer tool in a model, you can add an Iterator to iterate through a select set of index polygons to automate the creation of multiple grids.  See the help topic on Iterators at:
