First the techie stuff - ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.1, Windows XP;
1 - upgraded to 10.2.2 but had to revert because of lack of XP support in 10.2.2;
2 - upgraded X-Tools from v10 to v11 but went back to v10 because ArcMap would freeze up. X-Tools 10 has run fine for years with ArcMap 10.1 & 10.2.1
OK, now the weird behavior - each morning after I start ArcMap, when I try to print, ArcMap immediately freezes up and I have to use Task Manager to get out. Re-start ArcMAP and it behaves itself for the rest of the day. I've run MxdDoctor on my project, no fix.
Any of you good folks experienceing this? There's 50lbs of polar bear chow to the first Canadian ...

Tim...is there someone else that login to your machine to see if it your user profile that may be causing the issue. Has there been any print jobs sent to the printer prior to you running ArcMap? Don't dispaire!!!
great photo
Tim,
Installing the following patch should resolve the issue.
Brian -
Bingo
I forgot to run the patch after reverting from 1022 to 1021
Tim,
Glad that worked out for you.
