All

This widget is for creating point features at a known XY location.  It is extending the smart editor widget so you can select a feature template and enter the XY location of the point.  Once you click add location it will create the point at that known location.

I have a projection in my updates as some of our submittals are in decimal degrees WGS 84 and some are in State Plane.  All of our maps are in Iowa State Plane South so I need to reproject using the WGS 84 output Spatial Reference and use the correct Transformation.  If you are going to stay in the basemaps current coordinate system there is no need for a reprojection.  If you do need to reproject you will have to update the url to your geometry service and also update all of the WKIDs on line 223,228, and 229 in widget.js.

The widget layout looks like the following:

Setting up the Widget

To install the widget for all web app builder applications you can add the widget to \client\stemapp\widgets folder.  It will overwrite the default smart editor widget.  If you just want it in an application add it into \server\apps\app#\widgets folder.

How would one go about "baking" this into Ptl 10.6.1 so it comes with the standard WAB template?

I was reading somewhere that I think webappbuilder 2.9 the Smart Editor widget has this functionality built in.

The problem is, that's the AGOL version. The PTL codebase is generally 1 year behind AGOL, and then we're 1 to 2 years behind current release on PTL due to the massive amount of security/regression/(calls to TS) testing we have to perform before deploying it on our network. This functionality is popular enough where we'd want to get this custom widget baked into the PTL WAB source code (on Dev first, of course).

PTL are you talking Portal? That is one to 2 years behind, I thought maybe 1 or 2 versions, not 2 years that is crazy? Sorry we are just getting ready to install, not sure what it takes to package up these customizations with your local portal. I may look into it in the future, but I work almost exclusively in the developers version.

Guys,

It is normally a half year. Here is a link that will help with release info:

Yeah, we're trying to move away from developer addition as that requires providing space on IIS, and opens up a whole new security issue. Gotta keep the Pine Cone Database Safe.....PTL 10.6.1 I'm darned close to being able to put my current WAB Dev Ed sites to bed, as almost all of the custom widgets that I deployed are now standard. But then stuff like this one comes out, and people hear about it  and then......"Sorry we're not upgrading PTL 'till 2020....".

Ok that is a little more acceptable so they are currently on 2.8 version of web appbuilder 2.9 will probably be released by December, could you use the 2.9 version of the smart editor and share like the following

http://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/use/add-custom-widgets.htm

I have never done this, but may be a workaround for now.
