Hello,
I would like to do floodplain mapping for a catchment using ArcHydro tool box and results (i.e, channel water levels w.r.t time) obtained from a developed hydraulic routing model. I have the DEM of the catchemnt and channel and boundary shape files.
Can anybody share their ideas here on how to tackle this problem? As most of the literature which I could locate was ArcHydro with HEC-RAS or HEC Geo-RAS

Hi Anand,
I was wondering if you figured out a way to delineate floodplains without the use of HEC RAS and HEC GeoRas? I am working on the same issue. Thank you!

Ashleigh,

The ArcGIS 10 based HEC-GeoRAS preporcessor for HEC-RAS 4 is now available in late stage Beta from the HEC download site or the ESRI Water Resources development ftp site.

Release version is 10.0.0.25 dtd. 20111003--but you'll want to keep up with any version upgrades.
