Hi,
I get these errors if I try to install the latest versions of either ArcHydro or HEC-GeoRAS:

Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\1.txt. Verify that you have access to that directory. <Abort> <Retry> <Ignore>
Error 1334.The file 'unmergearcmaplog.log.CF6DDCFF_31A4_470B_AC17_E5A1A948F631' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, and error reading from the C... <OK>

I used to have the beta version of HEC-GeoRAS for 10.0 installed, but I am trying to upgrade.  I have uninstalled HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, APFramework, ArcHydro, etc. and I ran ApRegWork.exe to clean out the registry.

I also tried reinstalling ArcGIS since the installation package is trying to access a file in that folder.  I did have a 1.txt file in the folder indicated, but it's no longer there after the reinstall.

I also can't reinstall the beta version of HEC-GeoRAS for 10.0; getting the same errors.

Any idea what may be going on here?  Anything I can try to get the install to work?  Please, any help is much appreciated.  I really need to get GeoRAS back.  Thanks in advance.

Please try the latest setups from our ftp site and use ArcHydro 2.1 for 10 with GeoRAS for 10.

Eliza,

You don't give us much to work with regards how you've made your removal or installation attempts. But if I had to guess, I'd suspect you've a hardware issue in the mix...

What operating system and hardware (CPU, Graphics, RAM)?

Do you have administrators group access for your system?

Have you run a disk diagnostic for your HDD?

If using a DVD, have you run a diagnostic of the DVD reader?

Did you verify the HASH value of the installation packages?

Are you mounting a copy of the installer ISOs as a virtual disk? Is it a file local to the HDD?

Are you attempting the install from a network share?

Let us know, we may be able to help.

Hi Stuart,
What operating system and hardware (CPU, Graphics, RAM)? I'm running Windows XP on an Intel Core2 Duo 3.16 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700.

Do you have administrators group access for your system?  I have admin access.

Have you run a disk diagnostic for your HDD? No hard disk issues.  We have this installation problem on 3 separate machines (one runs Windows 7).

If using a DVD, have you run a diagnostic of the DVD reader?  No DVD involved.

Did you verify the HASH value of the installation packages? I'll need some guidance on how to do this.

Are you mounting a copy of the installer ISOs as a virtual disk? Is it a file local to the HDD? Running msi file from local hard drive.

Are you attempting the install from a network share? No.

Which versions are you trying to install? We had that error in the past when the setup was trying to test whether a location read from the registry (for Python I believe) was correct. The latest setups should have taken care of this issue.
