Hi, I'm experimenting with the new Share As... Runtime Content... option in ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.2. I created an offline geodatabase file with a point layer (Cities). The layer has its Scale Range set to "Don't show layer when zoomed out beyond: 1:12,000,000". This looks correct in ArcMap and works fine when publishing the geodatabase file as runtime content, sideloading to the device, and loading the layer into a map using this code: for (AGSFeatureTable* fTable in [self.geodatabase.featureTables reverseObjectEnumerator]) { if ([fTable hasGeometry]) { NSLog(@"adding name: %@", fTable.tableName); [self.mapView addMapLayer:[[AGSFeatureTableLayer alloc] initWithFeatureTable:fTable]]; } } I then turned on the "Label features in this layer" option and set the Scale Range of the labels to "Don't show labels when zoomed out beyond: 1:4,000,000". This works correctly in ArcMap, however, when displayed on the device the labels are shown between 4,000,000 and 12,000,000 scale. Thanks! James

The WPF API has a ProxyURL property on several of the map layer types. For example, see here: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/wpf/apiref/ESRI.ArcGIS.Client~ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer_members.html I couldn't find an equivalent property on any of the iOS SDK layers such as AGSTiledMapServiceLayer. Is this not supported?

Divesh, Thanks for that workaround. Deleting the ~ipad Magnifier images from the bundle does produce the smaller magnifier 🙂 Cheers! - James

The ArcGIS.bundle file contains these Magnifier related graphics files: Magnifier.png: 141x141 px Magnifier@2x.png: 282x282 px Magnifier~ipad.png: 282x282 px MagnifierMask.png: 141x141 px MagnifierMask@2x.png: 282x282 px MagnifierMask~ipad.png: 282x282 px Note that there are no @2x versions of the ~ipad graphics and the ipad files are twice as big as the non-retina iPhone versions. The net result is that on non-retina iPads the magnifier is twice as big as it should be, but on retina iPads it is the correct size. The is a big problem if your map view does not take up the whole iPad screen because the map autoscrolls when the magnifier gets near the edge so the UI becomes very awkward. Also, it is pixelated and doesn't look so good. I tried replacing the Magnifier~ipad.png and MagnifierMask~ipad.png files with smaller copies in my xcode project (like you can do to override the GpsDisplay graphics) - but this did not work. Please, how can I get the magnifier to work correctly on non-retina iPads? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Divesh, I figured the url could be hacked somehow, but I wasn't sure where to insert the version number.

Is there an easy way to find the documentation (Concepts and API Reference) for version 2.3.2 of the SDK? All the links on the communities page have been updated to the latest version. I am still using the older version and not ready to upgrade yet.

Keep me posted. I'm about to upload a binary like that tomorrow. Brett, My app was compiled and submitted with: armv7s removed base sdk: iOS 6 deployment target: iOS 5 included Default-568h@2x.png with support for new screen size It passed review in 2 days. Good luck!

How are you zooming the map? My app does not crash when zooming programmatically or via pinch zoom / double tap / two finger tap. I'd like to know how to reproduce the error so I can make sure my code is not susceptible. Thanks.

I'm fairly certain this will result in a rejection if you include a Default-568h@2x.png. I'll find out soon enough!

Bump - I would like to know the answer to this as well. Thanks. PS - you can remove the armv7s setting from valid architectures until the framework is updated. See here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12402092/file-is-universal-3-slices-but-does-not-contain-an-armv7s-slice-error-for-st

Does anyone know how to calculate the z, x, and y for all tiles intersecting a given map extent? I need to pre-load a bunch of tiles for an animation. I am using the standard web mercator google/bing/esri map tiling scheme. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

BTW, the only workaround I've found so far it to reset the map and reload all the layers again every few minutes. Once the map is reloaded and my AGSTiledLayer subclass is added again it asks for all of the tiles again. Of course this has the side effect of filckering the map every time it reloads. Note that simply removing the layer and adding another new instance of the layer back to the map does not have the same effect.

Hi, I have a subclass of AGSTiledLayer. When retrieveImageAsyncForTile is called, I create a subclass of AGSTiledLayerOperation and fire of a request to retrieve the tile from a remote URL (not ArcGIS Server because it needs to be cached on a CDN). This all works great. But the remote tiles are regenerated every few minutes. The problem I have is that once the tiles are regenerated my AGSTiledLayer subclass never asks for the tiles it has already retrieved. Is there a way I can tell my subclass "Hey, don't cache these tiles, just ask me for them every time and I'll implement my own caching" Thanks is advance, James
