Have you taken a look at the document that I attached? It clearly states that to activate the LAS Toolbar it requires the 3d Analyst Extension.  Without it you can see see the data and use it for different calculations and in a mosaic dataset, however to utilize the toolbar you will need the 3d Analyst Extension. Thanks for the update.  Hopefully we will see these issues addressed soon.  I am sorry that I was not able to come up with a more 'code' friendly workaround.  If the environment setting is taken than it should not be a problem with your workflow any longer. Have you evaluated all of the values in that column that you are using to create the new raster?  Is there odd values within it?  Missing Values?  Or as Steve refers to is there a joined table to the raster? ... View more

With the Lookup tool, you can create a new raster based on a field within the raster.  Then you could use the Float tool to turn the integer to a float.  You will lose the attribute table, but will gain the float raster. ... View more

Here is the link for the help documentation and quote.  However, the tools are not always active when working with LAS datasets and the 3D Analyst toolbar tools. The 3D Analyst toolbar tools are only available when a LAS dataset is displayed as a full resolution triangulated surface. A full resolution surface is indicated in the table of contents when 100% of points are being used to construct the triangulated surface. On the one that works, can you use the Layer to 3d Feature Class tool to create a multipatch and see if the multipatch will display on the 'bad' computer?  If the video card will not even display that feature than the issue may be the video card.  If it will display it then there has to be an issue with the setup or confusion between the coordinate system and layer. ... I would take a look at the interpolation tools in Spatial Analyst to create the output.  You will not want to convert the points to a raster and then do the interpolation.  You will need to keep the csv as points and then use them in one of the interpolation tools. I am not sure what 'R' is, but all the tools are available with Spatial Analyst to create your raster. ... View more

If you projected the file and then you saw that it failed to display, then ArcPad cannot fix that.  If your uncompressed size of your .sid is 4.6 Gigs, than the projected Tif will be at least that size.  Be sure that you have that much room to create a file like that and if you are using a network location, it will not time out.  This time I would check the size of the file created and the display.  If the output is bad again then could also be the version of ArcMap you are using.  If you have ArcGIS 10, then I would think the Big Tiff, which I am not sure would display in ArcPad anyway.  The best route may be to utilize a LizardTech license and then project it back to a sid in that software.  ArcMap cannot export a sid to maintain the compression.  I would also consider sticking with the coordinate system of the sids and move the vector data, since the exporting and projecting of the sids can create more problems.  I have also been advised to check out the vector data and then add the sids in as an SD card, otherwise the apm will be huge and cause problems. ...
