I assumed that Geoprocessing call which you make is custom call. i.e. You can created Geoprocessing model and published as Geoprocessing tool (GP Tool) and accessing the same in client application. I thought "poly_dissolve_model" is your custom program designed for dissolve operation based on condition. Let me know if my assumption is correct

We have created Geo processing service with set of tools and consuming in a sliverlight application. I want to programmatically find whether GP service is up and running ?. Is there any specific way?. Current whenever particular tool is failed, on failure event am giving message. I want to know whether service itself up and running . please throw some light on this

Give a closer look on information, first time execution displays two warnings..hence there is something wrong in code. Debug the GP tools and see the issue.

All, I am looking for good materials for understanding map projections and coordinate systems. Though lot of links available in internet but they are too theoretical and repeatedly explaining same things. I am looking for practical examples, basic concepts explained in simple terms with examples. I would be happy if someone send me a best book for this as well. SR I suppose you have one map service with more than 100 layers. If you need more detailed information of the layers, you can through the rest api get information in JSON format. Probably there you will get the information if it is a culture layer or not (some field ?). Johnny Thanks Johnny. I am not getting any information (specific field) to identify that layer is culture layer or not. Please let me know if there is any other help.

Hi We are using map document with set of 100 layers and published as a service and consuming them in sliverlight application. Among 100 layers nearly 50 layers are culture layers, how do I distinguish these layers from the rest of layers. I DO NOT want grouping for layers because we have lot of functionality based on layers hence I don't want group them. What is better way, I cannot add any description on each layer say this is "Culture" etc . I want distinguish these layers in map document and able to differentiate in Sliverlight application easily. Please provide me some pointers SR

I want to download the file directly on button click . I have lot of pdf files stored in web server path is ex. http://webservercomputer/arcgisjobs/print1.pdf . On click of button, I want download this file to the user computer . Hope am clear with the requirement

This is purely sliver light question, how to download the file in the web server. On button click, I just need to download the file with "Save as/Open/Cancel" options. I do not want to open another hyperlink/server page. I am using sliverlight 4.0 version.

See the attached image, I have drawn a polygon as element on top of my layer. The layer has labels in all the polygons (ie.'ALAM') but labels behind the graphic polygon (blue color ) is not appearing. Hope this is clear now.
