Leo, When you refer to the "authorization file for ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise", make sure you are not using the "prvc" file, which is used to authorize the software(ArcGIS for Server)! The Authorization files for authorizing the ArcGIS for Server and an ArcSDE geodatabase are different. Authorization of a sde geodatabase requires either the Keycodes file or an ECP file. An ECP file for 10.x can be downloaded from the below link: https://customers.esri.com/index.cfm?event=pub.ecpAuthorizations Another good Technical Article for reference (valid for 10.2 too): How to get an authorization file or keycodes file for the new Create Enterprise Geodatabase tool at 10.1 http://blogs.esri.com/esri/supportcenter/2012/08/09/how-to-get-an-authorization-file-or-keycodes-file-for-the-new-create-enterprise-geodatabase-tool-at-10-1/ Regards,

Holly, Answer 1: Yes, that is supported. As the base version of PostgreSQL 9.1.3 is a supported Database version, PostgreSQL 9.1.9 will also be supported. http://support.esri.com/en/content/supportedenvironmentpolicy Answer 2: To the best of my knowledge, I don't think ArcSDE is supported with DB2 iSeries. If you have a DB2 iSeries, you may be able to make an OLEDB connection to this database to access tables, however again, ArcSDE is not supported on this database platform. Answer 3: The below link should answer this question-- Enabling geodatabase functionality in a DB2 database: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//0029000000sn000000 Regards,

not sure if this will help or not...but you can still give this a try... ArcGIS 10.1 Desktop Parcel Editing General Maintenance Patch: http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/160/metaid/1887 and as Damion mentioned...contacting ESRI Tech Support would be the best way to troubleshoot the issue... I am not sure if the SDE Personal is included along with the free trial that you are referring to, as it seems that you just downloaded the setup for ArcGIS Desktop, and I have never personally downloaded a trial. Maybe someone who has downloaded and used a trial version can help you here.

That should be included with the Desktop installation setups. If you have the setups, run it...the SDE setup should be included in that...below is a screen shot for example: Hope this helps! Regards,

The link that you mentioned, is actually more concerned with the SDE Enterprise (which is completely different licensing and is not available with Evaluation to the best of my knowledge) The SDE Personal, which comes free with Desktop installation, only allows Direct Connections...so there is no option of using the sde service connections here. Try running the SDE Personal setup--> Enable the instnace and then you should be able to create new geodatabases as required.. Regards,

Untill and unless you install the SDE setup, you cannot create sde geodatabase. You will have to work with simple SQL Server Database. If you want to work with simple databases, you need to create that from SQl Server Management Studio. After creating the database there...it should show up under the added instance. Regards,

Steve, The Default storage type for a SQL Server sde geodatabase has changed in 10.1. The default is "GEOMETRY" now, because of which the f-tables are no longer created for newly created/loaded data with "DEFAULT" storage type. You can check the storage type of the layers in ArcCatalog. RightClick on the Feature Class-->Properties-->General tab--> check the "Storage" details. In case, the storage is "Geometry" and you need the f-table for your workflow, you'll have to reload the data and select the "SDEBINARY" as the storage type. This should create a corresponding f-table. Regards,

Hanan, I would suggest creating a full backup of your geodatabase and then running the "sdegdbrepair -o diagnose_tables" to look for any orphaned records. If any orphaned records are found, you can run "sdegdbrepair -o repair_tables" to correct those records. Hope this helps! Regards,

Dahae, You can have a look at the below link. You might be hitting a known Bug: [ NIM082229 - In ArcGIS 10.1 for Desktop, when an ArcSDE versioned layer is displayed after being joined to an ArcSDE table in Oracle, the following error is returned: "ORA-00904: invalid identifier"] http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/TklNMDgyMjI5 Regards,

Tamara, The same restrictions are applicable if you directly upgrade your sde gdb to 10.2. Client and geodatabase compatibility (10.2): http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.2/index.html#//003n00000008000000 The above link contains all the required information. Hope this helps! Regards,

Tamara, ArcGIS 10 can open and edit a 10.1 geodatabase. Be aware, though, that the ArcGIS 10 client will not have access to 10.1 functionality and will not be able to edit data, such as network datasets or mosaic datasets, that are using 10.1 functionality. The above is applicable only if the data that you are editing is using any new 10.1 functionality, which was not present in 10.0 ! For more reference on "What's new at 10.1", you can have a look at the below links: What's new in ArcGIS 10.1: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/pdf/whats_new_in_arcgis.pdf What's new for editing in ArcGIS 10.1 http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/index.html#//016w0000002v000000 If you simply upgrade your geodatabase to 10.1 and don't make any changes/add new functionality to your existing data using 10.1, you can edit the same data using Client 10.0 w/o any problem. Regards,
