Yes, the manual Copy/Paste of the data and the Import/Export as XML workspace documents preserves the ObjectIDs of the data.

Glad that it helped. Yes, you should be able to use any other Browser as your Default browser and still connect. I myself use Chrome as my default but have IE9 installed. There are some more discussions in the comments section of that Blog (issues with IE10, some settings change, etc). Have a look at them and see if any of the suggestions helps. Otherwise as suggested, you may have to discuss with Tech-Support for further insight on this.

Try selecting the 3rd option and increasing the value to a higher number, maybe 30, and then try. I don't think it will work, but still. If that still doesn't help, there might be something wrong in the registry settings, which might require a complete OS reload ( I am not completely sure about this, just my opinion) maybe someone else can suggest some other settings change or maybe you can directly call Tech-Support and have them take a look at the machine.

Thats more of ArcGIS Server security configurations..... @Brian -- I am not sure if you there is any documentation as such specifically for the geodatabase replication process. The level of data encryption applicable to an sde geodatabase, should apply for the replication process too. Other than that, it would be how you setup the Logins and permissions on the Child gdb. However you can wait and see if anyone else has any other important pointers for you.

As for the locks related errors, is there anyone else working with the data from that gdb right now? Is it possible to make sure there are no other connections to that gdb and then re-run that script. You can also check this link for "analyzing the spatial data and rebuilding their indexes" from the database end: 24518 - How can ArcSDE performance be improved?

The first error "ERROR 000684: Do not have administrative privileges" is expected.
Most of the geodatabase system tables have indexes, but the tables that tend to have the greatest amount of change in a versioned enterprise geodatabase and, therefore, require the indexes to be rebuilt most often are the states, state_lineages, and mv_tables_modified system tables. As the geodatabase administrator, you can rebuild the indexes on these tables in geodatabases in IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL databases using the Rebuild Indexes geoprocessing tool.
Your usual data_owner is not the geodatabase administrator, so the tool fails. ArcGIS Help 10.1 The geodatabase administrator in Oracle: ArcGIS Help 10.1

In ArcCatalog, open up the Python shell and just run the "Rebuilding indexes and updating statistics" part in it. Check if it actually works there or not.

it would be \\server\c$ as Antonio suggested. In case you want to, you can simply copy that Keycodes file to your local machine and use it, as and when required....you need not always point to the default location to use it.
