You can look into using your own printing utility service within Portal, also described here. You can follow this doc for more advanced ways to print maps.

You'll want to use the workflow outlined under The publisher's machine and the server are working with different databases in the following link: About registering your data with ArcGIS Server—Documentation | ArcGIS Enterprise This doesn't exactly match your use case, but the general idea is that the Publisher, (your user), is using a different connection string than the Server, (ArcGIS Server).

If the original data sources are accessible to the hosting server, then you can register them as data stores and reference the data in the original location. If you're publishing hosted layers, then unfortunately, you'll need to copy the data to the Server during publishing time. If the server is the hosting server, then you won't be able to disable data copy. In regards to the SAML authentication within Desktop, have you tried to enter your SAML credentials instead of the PSA? For IWA, SSO would automatically authenticate you. Since SAML is hitting an external authentication mechanism, I'm not sure if ArcMap supports that.

If the service is rendered dynamically, do the symbols show up? If not, you know it's not a problem with caching. I would expect the same problem with a dynamic service. It's likely that the handicap symbol font isn't installed on the Server machine, which is surprising because I thought that was a default symbol.

You can write a python script to loop through all services and query them. By querying, you're making sure that both the service and data are accessible. If the query fails or doesn't return any features, then you can be alerted that there's a problem with the service. You should also query the logs to determine if any services are reporting errors.

If you're publishing to Portal and the data is copied into the ArcGIS Data Store, you have the option of creating a tile layer or hosted feature layer. If you're publishing a hosted feature layer, they can be edited in clients such as the web map viewer, any web application that supports editing, and desktop clients like Pro and ArcMap. Hi Paul, Yes, it should be fixed for all versions of Chrome. There were some issues specific to certificates, like you mentioned in your other post, which again was Chrome related. If you reached Manager of a federated Server through a URL using a self-signed certificate, the page may not have loaded. The problem was that Chrome forgot the exception set for the certificate: 1) Reach the Manager page through 6443 using a self-signed certificate and proceed through the warning 2) Since it's federated, Manager redirects to the Portal oauth sign in page. 3) Once signed in, you're redirected back to 6443. At this point, Chrome forgot that you had provided an exception for the self-signed certificate, but you're authentication, so the console would throw a bunch of INSECURE RESPONSE errors. Not sure if this is what you were seeing but it's the other Chrome related problem that comes to mind. And yes, I will be! Building your first ArcGIS Enterprise and Disaster Recovery and High Availability for ArcGIS Enterprise. They're mostly late in the day, but that's alright!

In your other post, (https://community.esri.com/thread/197833-help-arcgis-portal-is-not-lunching ), there was a suggestion to use a different browser, such as IE or Firefox. Chrome has a problem with Portal where errors aren't properly returned to the UI. You're likely seeing an error, (username or password policy perhaps), but the home app isn't returning the error. Open the https://<server_name>.<domain>.com:7443/arcgis/home/ page in IE or Firefox and try to create the Portal again. The Chrome issue is fixed at 10.5.1.

Majdoleen Awadallah, the problem with export/import is that it was never designed to work as a migration tool. You can give it a try and it may work for you, but take note that it's not something we test internally so there may be unforeseen side effects. The workflow I outlined is using processes already well in use for an ArcGIS Server site, (moving directories, joining, unjoining). Joe Weyl, migration is something we're focusing on for future releases. We realize there are a lot of times things that are currently hard coded within the software can change, (machine names, URLs, etc), so we are discussing designs for what the user experience will be like for those workflows.

Backup/restore is not meant to move data, services, or configurations between machines. If you need to move services from one machine to another, you can go through the following: 1) Move the config-store and directories to a shared location using the Admin API 2) Install Server on the new machine 3) Join the new Server to the existing site 4) Remove the old machine from the site. 5) Set the config-store and directories back to a local drive on the machine or wherever they were initially.

What's happening is that a proxy request is being made from the Portal to the World Traffic service and since you're in a disconnected environment, that request fails. When it fails, those options don't appear. The Portal application itself will need access to the World Routing service: Configure a disconnected deployment—Portal for ArcGIS (10.5.x) | ArcGIS Enterprise There's a section of some of the problems you may encounter when you're in a disconnected environment. Yours is a similar problem. You'll likely need to talk to your IT staff about setting up a forward proxy.
