There was a bug in prior versions where if the server lost connection to the config-store, then all services became locked. This has been fixed for a while, though. I think you should turn on at least Verbose logs, decrease the time to retain all logs to a day or two days, and then monitor the status of the services. If they come locked again, take a look at the logs to see what happened.

If you go to /portaladmin/security/oauth/getAppInfo and then enter mapsForSharePoint in the App ID parameter, what output do you get? FYI this will include hostnames so take that into consideration before posting the output. If the public Portal URL isn't in the list of redirect URI's, that may be the problem.

Well, the easiest thing to try is simply adding an "s" to http and see if you can reach the service. If you can, then you should be good to go. If you can't, you'll need to speak with the admin of the GIS Server site or your IT staff to enable HTTPS on whatever is the front end of the GIS Server, (IIS and the web adaptor, reverse proxy, etc). Here's some documentation that may help.

You need to match the protocol you use to access the WAB with the protocol of the GP service, (or vice versa). If you access the WAB over HTTPS, the GP service needs to be accessed over HTTPS. If you access the WAB over HTTP, you need to use HTTP for the GP service. Take a look at what mixed content is.

Fiddler and developer tools, (for example the Chrome developer tools) will allow you to inspect the network traffic when configuring the widget to help you identify the problem. Each browser has it's own developer tools. If you're going to be working with web applications and services, you'll benefit from knowing how to troubleshoot network traffic.

Are you accessing the Web App builder over https? I would use Fiddler or take a look at the Developer tools to figure out what request is failing.

Two web adaptors will work for Server, but not for Portal. For Portal, you can only have one "entry point" into the portal. If you're looking to have internal users use their Windows accounts and get a single sign on experience but also allow public access, you'll need to look into using SAML.

If you can reach what you entered for the baseURL in a browser on the machine you're running the script, there shouldn't be a reason why you see the getaddrinfo error in Python. That error simply means the host can't be found.

I suggest setting that to True and seeing what kind of performance improvement you get, if any. It's likely there's enough latency between the machines during the internal communication to cause problems.

If the problem is BUG-000096129, this is fixed at 10.5. It shouldn't matter what version you upgrade from, as long as you get to 10.5.
