Hi @MarieDawes , the coordinates in the GPS metadata (Lat, long fields in your screenshot) are raw values from the receiver and as you note these match what is shown on your GPS receiver or receiver app. The values in the popup header come from the features geometry which could be slightly different depending on the basemap being used, Location Profile set up and the transformation(s) used. I hope this helps!

Hi @OliverIshmael , do you know what workflow you are performing when the app crashes? For example, opening a map or editing a feature. Also, what tablet model and OS version is it?

Did you try switching the Location Provider to Integrated and then back to the R1? You can also try removing the R1 as a provider and re-adding it. This should reestablish the connection with the Trimble app. It sounds like Field Maps is not receiving updated locations for some reason. If you tap the GPS details, does it show when the last location you received was? It will either say "Updated now" or tell you when the last location was received.

A couple of things to clarify: > there is one Tracks layer for all field accounts (4 separate field accounts feed into one singular tracks layer - not ideal, but the way our org works.. Track Views can be created with the Track Viewer app. You can create individual Views for each user or group them as you please. It wasnt clear if you were aware of this. >The blue lines you see weaving above are the original "Track Lines" that come directly from the Tracker layers. The "Track Lines" layer is generated server side after the track points are uploaded. The track "lines" you see in the Field Maps app, which appear in the Layers tool as the My tracks layer, are not necessarily the same lines you may see in the Track Lines layer on when reviewing in a Web Map after upload. This is part of the reason I was asking how the lines appeared on the mobile device for the My tracks layer. By this time those original points are likely gone from the device. However, if you did see the lines drawing like this in the Field Maps app as a part of the My tracks layer it may indicate an issue with the GPS signal but that also seems unlikely based on your screenshot. Have you stepped through the original track points, while observing the timestamps? Do they seem to follow along the path in the correct order?

Hi @EGallant15 , What do the tracks look like on the device, if they have not been cleared already? And what device was used to capture them? Just for clarification, are all of these tracks coming from the same user and same device?

Hi @CPHSDnelson , The "Source Type" and "Receiver Name" fields exist in the metadata schema and can indicate what device is being used to generate that location. The Provider and Location Profile are also displayed in the GPS details in the app but the current Location Profile is not an existing Metadata Field. The team is exploring methods to define Web Map settings via Field Maps Designer that could potentially restrict usage to certain Profiles or Providers on a per map basis, for example. Currently in Designer you can set required accuracy and require a Fix Type which could catch if a Field Worker was not connected to their Arrow receiver, for example. Not exactly what you are looking for at this time but hopefully this helps.

Hi @Mannus_Etten , were you testing with or without battery optimization on? This is a setting in the Field Maps app that should be toggled on by default but would be good to double check. When "On" we shouldnt see as much noise with your locations when the device is stationary as we use the activity monitor in the device to shut off the GPS when the device is not moving. If you are constantly moving then this setting would not make much of a difference. Can you clarify the OS and device you are using in this example? Both Android and iOS have some battery usage statistics that can be found in the Settings which can help pinpoint the battery usage on a per app basis. We would of course want to make sure something else isnt draining your battery. One hour of usage should certainly not be draining your battery, regardless of the optimization setting.

Hi @AbiDhakal , You can use a tpk(x) file as the basemap in Field Maps but the workflow has changed a bit from Collector. We do not have the same screen for selecting a local basemap that you might be familiar with from the Collector days. This is now configured in the Web Map settings ahead of time either in AGOL/Portal Web Map settings or using Field Maps Designer. Essentially you are writing a property to the Web Map to tell it to use a local file (.tpkx) instead of downloading the Web Maps basemap. The steps are outlined in this doc. This does not apply to mmpk which are consumed as maps and cannot be dissected to only use the basemap from that file elsewhere, if that makes sense. That being said, if the tpk files are loaded in the correct place you should be able to use them as a basemap in any map, offline or online, using the Basemap tool. This does mean that if you are downloading a map it will still take the default basemap offline, resulting in a longer download time. That is why the workflow linked above is the recommended practice. Let me know if you have questions.

Hi @ChrisBerryman , the mobile workers, or anyone interested in viewing that tracks that is not an admin, will need the privilege called "view location tracks". You may need to set up a custom user role with this privilege as I dont believe it is included in most of the roles by default.

With this data in the local county coordinate system already, it seems to make more sense to stick with set up #1. Is my thought process off on this? I agree with this; I believe you are on the right track. I cant comment too much on the Z value results though as I have less experience in the area of vertical datums.

Hi @mshanaghan , you shouldnt need the Bad Elf Flex app to connect to the receiver in Field Maps if you are not using corrections. Are you having trouble connecting at all? Out of curiosity, what mobile device and OS version are you using?

It would depend on what the local coordinate system is and if there is a transformation available between that and NAD83 2011. I cannot speak on the specifics in this case but you have the right idea. If its not available for some reason, you would have to perform the final transformation after the fact as you mentioned before.

Looking into why this is happening. Seems to be related to the expression being 1 line only as something like this works: var userInfo = GetUser(portal("https://www.arcgis.com"),"") return userInfo.fullName

You will still need to set the Location Profile the way you mentioned even though there is no transformation needed. If there is no Profile Field Maps will assume coordinates are received in WGS 84. Even though a transformation is needed down the road for you it will still be good practice to remove unnecessary transformations during the collection process.

Hi @GISUSER6 , there are slight amounts of error introduced for each transformation so in an ideal situation you would avoid transformations where possible. If you create and publish your data in NAD83 2011, and your basemap is also in NAD83 2011, and you are receiving locations from your Trimble in the same coordinate system as well, then there is no need for a transformation. You will still want to set up a Location Profile defining the CS of your Map (basemap) and locations coming from your receiver. Are you using a correction service with the DA2 that is outputting locations in NAD83 2011?
