Please make sure: 1. You are in an editing session (editing toolbar --> Start editing) 2. The selected parcel(s) is associated to a valid plan. You can open the parcel attributes and view the PlanID, then make sure that PlanID exists in the Plan table (as an ObjectID)

Are you asking about migrating to the parcel fabric from polygons? If yes - the answer is yes and we had another meetup (recorded) covering that. You can also just digitize or copy-paste a polygon and hit Build. You can use the Split tool to interactively split lines and polygon features or use the divide tool to use entered dimensions/parameter. If you use ArcMap you can select one or more parcels (polygons) and then use the 'Copy LinesTo' active record command to edit the boundary lines and then, similarly to ArcMap hit the build button. I hope this answered your question Amir

On the bottom left of the map view, next to the map scale, you will find a button called 'Dynamic Constraints'. Press it once to toggle it on/off, or hover over to set it up. As always - make sure your project's units are setup properly. For more help: Turn dynamic constraints on or off—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Video recording from the Land Records Meetup December 5th, 2019 The Australian Capital Territory Government has undertaken a 5 year program to redevelop their cadastral and foundational spatial datasets to ensure their Spatial Data Management System (SDMS) aligns to current technology and national standards as well as enabling 3D. The system was commissioned in early 2000s and built on platform that was in its final stages of support (Oracle 11). . An initial review conducted in 2015 identified over 60 issues with the current system and recommended its urgent replacement. The key outcomes of the 5yr project were: • Establish a system that will be easy to maintain and upgrade • Convert from the current ACT centric projection to the new Australian datum Geocentric Datum of Australia (GDA2020) • Increase compatibility with other systems across government • Comply to national standards and streamline business process • Utilise the ESRI ELA and move to parcel fabric. This presentation will discuss how ACT achieved the move from a mathematical cadastral model in an oracle spatial database with a Geomedia front end to an PaaS Microsoft SQL ArcSDE database with both ArcMap and ArcGIS pro front end. Our next steps is building a Esri Enterprise 10.7.1 system and moving from ArcMap Parcel Frabric to ArcGIS Pro. Presenters: Kristy Van Putten, Director of Land Information, ACT Gov: Kristy is the Senior System Administrator of SDMS. She has worked in the spatial industry for 15 years, 5 yrs for ACT Government and 10 yrs for Federal Government (5 yrs in Indonesia with AusAID). Kristy now represent ACT Government at countless Australian and New Zealand forums and is managing several whole of government spatial initiatives. Katrina Oppermann, SDMS Data Manager, ACT Gov: Katrina is the subject matter expert for ArcGIS Parcel Fabric and SDMS database architect. She has worked in the spatial industry for 20 years both in Australia and the UK. Katrina attended the Parcel Fabric Holistic workshop in Redlands in March 2019 and ensured the success of the SDMS data migration. Amanda Kildea, Consultant, Geospatial Intelligence: Amanda is the lead consultant with comprehensive understanding of cadastral management and ESRI software. She has worked in the spatial industry for 15 years in a variety of positions including ESRI Australia and Geospatial Intelligence consultant. Amanda has been paramount in ensuring that all previous work flows have been migrated into the ESRI environment, as well as ensuring the database migration QA was a success.

Hello Kirsten Huntley We might have fixed it in the 2.5 release but we cannot know for sure. Why? you might have hit a different issue. How can we know if this is fixed or needs to be fixed? You have to call esri technical support. They will be able to tell you if this issue is known, has been fixed, related to your data or a user error. Please submit a case with technical support. Thanks, Amir

Please correct any of the following statements if found wrong: The original legal document, regardless of the year the data was recorded, does not specify the adjustment method to be used. The map technician accepts / rejects a traverse primarily based on the miscolse ratio. In some cases, since the document is old and recorded, even if the miscolse ratio is bad, there is no choice but to accept it. A free network LSA is the best way to detect blunders in a floating isolated survey network that is based on line measurements (not coordinate based cadastre). The adjustment methods to be used is chosen by the map technician by a process of trial and error. The chosen adjustment method to be used is based on the most pleasing CARTOGRAPHIC result and not on the mathematical most spatially accurate result. If a bad parcels abounds more recent and accurate surveys, it should be aligned to the more spatially accurate parcels regardless of the adjustment method. There is no algorithm that can automatically detect the best adjustment method to be used (else we can choose it automatically and save time for the ma technician). Please provide recorded documents and data samples.

@syvertson This has been addressed with Pro 2.5. If you are part of the early adopter program - please test to make sure this is not a data specific/ workflow issue. You are also welcome to submit a technical support issue so it can be analyzed and tracked.

The good thing about the GeoProcessing 'Create Parcel Records' is that you can run it as many times as necessary and on different fields. For ArcGIS Pro 2.4 (and parcel fabric version 1) - you should avoid associating parcels to 'dummy' records that have more than a few hundred parcels as updating a record geometry that is associated to so many parcels takes a performance hit. This is solved in parcel fabric version 2 with ArcGIS Pro 2.5. BTW - you don't have to connect to your assessor database. instead you might be able to export a table of the tax parcels (APNs) and the plan / record they are associated to + legal date. File format like dbf, excel would work, then join the layer and calculate the necessary values (once for parcls and after you have records you can calculate the records's legal date for example). You can even (potentially) create a URL in the records table that takes you to the CAMA or the document management system or recorders system. Just ideas...

I would try to open the attribute table for points and select point 445 to check where it is. If it is indeed in the wrong location fix the coordinates and regenerate the parcel fabric. There is not 'repair parcel fabric' tool - Technical support can help you troubleshoot your issue.

Currently there is no option to opt out of the 'MUST HAVE RECORD' rule. Would it be an option to join the parcels polygons to a business system table (like CAMA / Land Registry) and calculate over to a new field called 'RecordName' the recorders number? If you do that you will be able to run the geoprocessing tool Create Parcel Records and use the 'RecordName' field as input. It's good to hear that you do find value in creating records going forward for new transaction coming in to take advantage of parcel lineage.
