Thanks Jeff - great to know this is possible to do. I'll get my sys admins to look into this. Jay

Once I have deleted a dashboard, the error message that a user who has perhaps bookmarked that site sees is not very friendly: It would be much better to allow me to provide a nicely worded, organization-specific message, with perhaps a link to our OpenData site or some other page with GIS content. This is not only a dead-end, but it is not visually attractive... Anyway, we need a better way to manage "retired" content. Jay

I have a non-public hosted feature service in AGOL, from which I've created a layer view that is shared with an AGOL group. I have a non-federated PORTAL. Can I use the layer view from AGOL within PORTAL? When I try to add the AGOL layer view to Portal (from Web), it recognizes that it is a secure service and asks for credentials, but DOES NOT give me the option to store the credentials with the service item. I can initially access the layer using my AGOL credentials, but not using Portal credentials. Because of this, I don't see how I can share this with a Group in PORTAL. Jay

I've just upgraded to 10.8 and ArcMap is not putting recently opened MXDs into the popup menu on the Task bar. Normally, the last few projects I've worked on would appear in the red circled area, along with an option to add the MXD to the "pinned" list. I expected to lose the old list from 10.7, but moving forward, nothing new is showing up here now that I'm using 10.8. Any idea?

Absolutely you can do this. Create a Group, Share your story map with the Group. Invite other authors to the Group. To make changes, the other members of the group have to have a user role that gives them adequate power - in our organization this is frequently a Publisher role, but ESRI has a new "StoryTeller" role that looks interesting: Storyteller User Type | Bring Storytelling to Your Organization Jay

Simple idea, yes - but that just isn't the way ESRI has it set up. Either you make the map public, in which case everyone can see it, OR you keep it private, but share it with a group - which requires AGOL accounts for everyone in the group. There is no other out of the box mechanism for a "password protected map". My original advice was based on thinking you were working from a public account. As you found out, you can't invite public accounts to Groups in your organizational account, but you CAN create groups and invite other public account users via YOUR public account. You just can't mix organizational accounts with public accounts. So you could copy your content from your organizational account to your newly created public account (or just re-create your content in the public account, if you find that easier), create your group there and share with a group of friends/family that way. That still requires the people you want to share with to have a public account, which might be more than you (or they) want to deal with. Or just make it public...

You would have to create a group and share your content with that group. Then invite your friends to join that group.

Yes, you can open the link in a new window. The hyperlink needs to include target = "blank". Like this example: <a href="https://blahblahblah" target="blank">Click Here to open link</a> Jay

In Collector, it seems to work pretty simply - just put the links in a text field as-is; nothing else appears to be required. A web map with these links works fine for me in Collector. In Collector I go to edit one of these points and am able to click on the link and it opens in a new window. Jay

In ExpBuilder, you are using a text widget, Connect to data, then trying to use HTML tags, yes? Instead of HTML tags, build the text you want in the text box, then click on the specific text you want to bold and use the pop-up format box to apply your desired format to that text. Jay

Because the % sign is special in URLs, you have to use a code (i.e. escaping the character) so it knows you mean to use the % as a wildcard and not in its normal URL context. Try this (use %25 instead of just %): https://geodata.epa.gov/arcgis/rest/services/ORD/ROE_PercentChangeCarbonStorage/MapServer/2/query?f=GeoJSON&returnGeometry=true&outFields=*&where=CountyName LIKE 'Skag%25' Jay

I'd like to make a small change to a symbology expression in AGOL webmap WITHOUT losing my currently defined symbology. Even going into the expression and just removing a commented line re-sets the symbology, losing all my prior symbol customizations. I could understand this if the edits changed the unique values, but that isn't the case. Is there any way to edit the Expression with having to re-do all my symbolization changes?

I am running Pro 2.6.0 and just created a new Feature Dataset in a File GDB. Rt-click, New, Feature Dataset. So, this confirms it is something you should still be able to do in Pro 2.6. Re-install Pro? Jay
